Maher Buys Into Claim Sarah Palin's Baby Son Really Her Grandson

It's Newsbuster's, BUT the only reason I link them is because they have the actual video (I can't link the video directly)...

I didn't include any of Newsbuster's commentary...This is nothing more than the actual transcript taken directly from Maher' show...

Quote:
JEFFREY TOOBIN: We're not talking about MSNBC or Fox, which are separate cases. But I don't think most of the news media -- the major news networks, CNN -- are biased in favor of one party or the other. There are certain kinds of stories we like. Say, you know, pregnant people. But we don't, I don't think there is a lot of sort of bias in favor of one party or the other.

BILL MAHER: Well, I'm glad you brought that up, tawdry as it is, because I'm not that convinced that that's her baby.

TOOBIN: You know, I'm willing to take their word for it on that, take their word for it that that is her baby.

[Audience laughter]

MAHER: It could be her baby, but it is a little suspicious -- if what I read in US magazine has any weight. I mean-

TOOBIN: I am actually convinced it is her baby.

MAHER: -the daughter -- who we know is fertile because she's knocked up again, or maybe for the first time

TOOBIN: Yeah, I think for the first time.

MAHER: Okay, but she did like take a five-month leave from high school because she had [uses fingers to make quote marks] “mononucleosis” right around the time the baby was being born. And the mother, the so-called, you know, okay, maybe it is the mother, but, you know, she was back to work three days later. You don't smell something?

TOOBIN: You know what, I don't. I have to say I'm willing to take their word for it on that part of the story. And frankly, I have never been involved in a journalism story where someone who claimed to have a baby, that was ever in dispute. I mean, that's just sort of something we usually take people's word for and I think that's appropriate in this case.

MAHER: Yeah, but look who we're talking about.

[laughter and applause]

TOOBIN: That may be.

MAHER: I mean, but it's not like they're not willing to lie about everything else. You know, this is the party of character.

TOOBIN: Put me down as a believer.
Defense of the Liberal media by Toobin saying he doesn't believe "the news media -- the major news networks, CNN -- are biased in favor of one party or the other?"...check...

Perpetuating disgusting rumor created by DailyKoS on national television?...check

Conversation on the number of times a VP nominee's daughter has been "knocked up"?...check

Final cheap shot at Republicans in general (to thunderous applause by his Oh-so-ever-objective audience)?...check...

There will be some on the Left that understand that this is under the line of decorum and actually come out and denounce it (Families are off limits for Obama himself, but his supporters can go right ahead, eh?")...

And there will be some on the right that understand that this is what it is...

A normal day for Republicans...

I watched the show and Toobin is misrepresented in your story. He said that MSNBC and FOX are bias. And Maher representsb himself. Not the left. I watch and agree with much of what he says. But then he says some off the wall crap. So does your boy Dennis Miller. Or Rush or Glenn(why do people listen to me) Beck. I am sure you agree with beck 75% of the time. But then he will say some ignorant statement.

This is the same bulls*hit defense when someone throws out vile and disgusting commentary aimed at Republicans...

Bill Maher represents himself. Not the left...

DailyKos represents themselves. Not the left...

Jimmy Carter represents himself. Not the left...

CodePink represents themselves. Not the left...

Michael Moore represents himself. Not the left...

Gore Vidal represents himself. Not the left...

Then who's actually DOES "represent the Left"?!?!?!...3 people living in secrecy?!?!?...

Everytime someone attacks the Right, the 2 responses used most of the time are 1) defending what was said...and 2) If they can't defend what was said, then it becomes "Oh...That doesn't count."...

Pat Robertson represents himself. Not the right...
Jerry Falwell represented himself. Not the right...
Fred Phelps and his crew represent himself. Not the right...
Larry Craig represents himself. Not the right...
Focus of the Family represents themselves. Not the right...

I could continue...

And when I point out how silly the convention flag story is I get the symbolism defense from you.

First, get the facts straight...

Fred Phelps is a DEMOCRAT...

Quote:
Phelps has run in various Kansas Democratic Party primaries five times, but has never won. These included races for governor in 1990, 1994, and 1998, receiving about 15% of the vote in 1998. In the 1992 Democratic Party primary for U.S. Senate, Phelps received 31% of the vote Phelps ran for mayor of Topeka in 1993 and 1997.

Phelps supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic Party primary election. In his 1984 Senate race, Gore opposed a "gay bill of rights" and stated that homosexuality was not something that "society should affirm". Phelps has stated that he supported Gore because of these earlier comments. According to Phelps, members of the Westboro Baptist Church helped run Gore's 1988 campaign in Kansas. Phelps' son, Fred Phelps Jr., hosted a Gore fundraiser, which Al and Tipper Gore attended, at his home in Topeka. Fred Phelps, Jr. served as a Gore delegate to the 1988 Democratic National Convention. Gore spokesman Dag Vega declined to comment; "We are not dignifying those stories with a response."
As far as the others...YOU ARE CORRECT!!!!...They DO represent the right...at least a part of it...

But it's a part of the right that the OTHER people on the right also admit they don't approve of...which is the difference...

Conservatives have a tendncy to go after their own when they act like idiots and say stupid things...Whereas the left will, instead of saying "Yes, they are a part of us but we don't like it", will come out and say "They aren't part of us AT ALL."...It's a complete whitewash...

Do you think "The Right" all jumped up and agreed when Falwell said the purple teletubbie is gay?...Of course not...They rolled their eyes and said "There's that guy on our side that's being an idiot again."...

Do you think "The Right" WANTS Larry Craig to keep his job?...Nope...Not only have their been calls been public for removal, but actual members of Congress have done so as well...

That's the major difference between the Left and the Right...

(General statement)The Right responds to conservatives acting like morons by saying "Hey...Those conservatives are acting like morons."...

The Left responds to liberals being morons by saying "Those people are acting like morons...BUT they're not liberals, so don't associate them with me like I do with Pat Robertson & Larry Craig and you."...Apostle Peter would be proud...

I wonder if Liberals said that 3 times in a row a rooster will crow...

Well if it's any compensation to you, redd, FOX has been running crap on Obama almost 24/7 with heafty excerpts of Rev Wright and his I have a nightmare speech better known as GD America. Just the clip, though. Not the entire sermon which was quite good and not eplaining that when Wright said the stuff about the chickens he was quoting a white American general.
Every truck stop we've been in lately has FOX news and that's all you see is bullshit bout Obama. So no Palin stories asking WHY the hell she left a town owing 22 million bucks when she came to it with it having a balance of zero debt. No no no, not God Bless FOX entertainment network no no no... well you know the rest.

Adding to the fact that it was supposed to be an ambassador and NOT a general, I'd like to know why you needed to point out the guy was white...

In any case...It didn't happen...They just wanted to deflect the legitimate complaint on Wright...and I see it worked on you like a charm...

Quote:
In March 2008 the U.S. Presidential campaign of Barack Obama was affected when videos of sermons by the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, his former pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ, came to media attention. In one broadcast on many media outlets, including ABC News, Wright, on Sept. 16, 2001, referenced an appearance of Peck on Fox News before saying, "We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye...and now we are indignant, because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought back into our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost." Wright attributed to Peck the credit for allegedly "pointing out" that "America's chickens are coming home to roost", a phrase Wright repeated several times. According to PBS Ombudsman Michael Getler, though Peck did cite numerous faults against America and criticized its foreign policy, Peck never actually used the expression "chickens coming home to roost". His answers were more nuanced.
I don't even know why you argue this point...If the ambassador did say it, then he's as much as an a-hole as Wright is for repeating it."...

According to your logic, I can go around saying "The Rutgers women's BB team looks like a bunch of nappy-headed hos" now because I'm just repeating others...

Ambassador OK, I thought it was a general. Wright pointed out he was white.
Which would be leading up to his remarks about native Americans and minorities getting the shaft and maybe we better sweep around our own door before more bad stuff happens. He was preaching on a Psalm that held foreboding for those who would kill innocents so their own children and civilians didn't have to suffer their folly. The sermon was about being aware we all wanted retribution and satisfaction, but that that is not what Jesus wants. God will have his judgment. Etcetera, etcetera.

My whole reference to Wright's sermon was about the little clips taken out of context that are being run on FOX a conservative leaning organization.

If the Dem's dogs are dishing dirt, just look at what the "right" is doing. That's all I am saying here.
