Coincidence or "framing"?...You be the judge...

Free Press voter panel reacts to Palin's speech

It's not really an article...Just man-on-the-street" commentary from people the Detroit Free Press asked...

But here are two of them...

Quote:
"Sarah Palin is a self-described ‘pitbull with lipstick.’ She spent little time helping Americans learn who she is. She is a cool, poised speaker, but her speech contained few statements about policy or the party platform. … I am not convinced that Palin's experience as a mayor or governor in Alaska meet the qualifications to be vice president much less one stroke or heart attack away from being commander in chief.” -- Ilene Beninson, 52, Berkley independent

“Sarah got as much applause as Hillary did, and had a friendly, appealing appearance.
Her delivery style reminded me of a high school valedictorian who also might have been a cheerleader. I thought she would appear more professional, more stateswomanly. She's no match for Joe Biden.” -- Joellen Gilchrist, 64, Beverly Hills independent
Wow...A couple of independants that didn't like Palin's speech?...I bet they were those "on-the-fence" independants...There's no chance they could actually be the "We're-so-far-left-we're-waiting-for-the-rest-of-the-Democratic- Party-to-catch-up-so-we-can-call-ourselves-Democrats-again" kind of independants....Right?...No chance of that?...

So they asked TWO Codepink representatives their opinion on a Republican speech...

What's next?...Are they gonna ask Nicole Brown's father his "independant" opinion on OJ?...

UPDATE - Journalism gets dumber and dumber...

Editor Defends Use of CodePink Members in ‘Independent’ Focus Group

Quote:
A Detroit Free Press editor expressed regret Monday that left-wing and anti-war activists were included in a focus group of so-called independent voters the newspaper interviewed during the political conventions, but said he didn’t see the harm in having a “radical leftist or two” in the group.

In response to questions posed to the would-be independent panel, two members of the anti-war group CodePink — as well as two other liberal activists — offered praise of Barack Obama after his Democratic presidential nomination acceptance speech. A week later they turned the tables and ripped into Republican Sarah Palin’s vice presidential nomination acceptance speech. Their comments appeared online and were excerpted in the Free Press’ print edition.

“I wish that it weren’t the case that there were two people from an activist group and we didn’t know about it,” assistant managing editor Randy Essex said of the CodePink members.

Nonetheless, Essex defended the panel’s results.

If there is a radical leftist or two in the group, I don’t care,” Essex told FOXNews.com. “I want a robust conversation, a complete range of political viewpoints.
Ummm...Listen up Captain Dumbsh*t...

The question is NOT "robust conversation"...

It's the fact that you GROUPED 2 radical leftists into the "Independant" catagory!...

And you didn't know??!?!!?!...Total coincidence that you asked TWO radical leftists about a Democratic speech and then asked them about Palin's a FULL WEEK LATER?...No time to research your subjects moron?...They just said "Independant" and you let it go at that?...

Google...20 seconds....TOPS!...

The thing is that the media thinks that American will just buy into any line of BS they throw out there. They have the attitude that we are the stupidest things ever to walk on two feet and that we should believe whatever they say. The good news is that the MSM is slowly but surely dissolving. My guess is that within 10-15 years, the MSM will pretty much be a non-player in public opinion forming. Crap like this is just digging their grave a little deeper.

The current media situation reminds me of a cornered animal...

They got caught being partisan smear merchants for the Messiah and instead of admission and backing down and attempting to return to objectivity they do the opposite and attack even more and let things like this slide...

This editor could've easily said "We didn't research our panel and that is a felony in the world of objective journalism. We failed the public."...

Of course, that's a true statement unless the editor DID know they were radical leftists (20 seconds on google) and decided to use them anyway to skew the results of the man-on-the-street interviews in order to help the lamb of Chicago...

The editor and his staff is either negligent or willfully deceitful...
