It signifies to me that one person is worried about his safety and the other is not.

Don't mince words.
Dispatcher: Are you following him?
Zimmerman: Yeah
Dispatcher: Ok, we don't need you to do that.
Zimmerman: Ok
Anybody who hears that and doesn't realize they should not continue to stalk the teenager is playing dumb.
I don't think I was mincing words. If anyone was mincing words it is you. You have completely changed what YOU said Zimmerman was told.

Zimmerman was told by dispatch to stay in his vehicle.
That was the lie I took exception to. What is posted above is the truth. And is fine. When the conversation above took place Zimmerman was already out of his car and following Martin and he acquiesced when told that he didn't need to do that. "OK".

Now whether he continued to follow him or not, I simply do not know and neither do you. But to say he was told to stay in his vehicle is simply NOT true. It is a lie any way you try to spin it. It is a lie designed to play on your emotions. To make you believe that he was sitting in his car, and was told to stay there, but he willfully disobeyed and got out of his car and followed Martin. Do I know what happened? No, I don't. But I know that didn't happen. So why the heck are you lying about it?

In a fight.
Are you under the misconception that if you are in a fight, you are automatically justified in killing the other party?
Time for a story. In the early 90s I was in Puerto Rico. I was riding my bike past a school when this kid 17 or 18 approached me. I thought he wanted to talk to me so I stopped to talk to him. When I did he grabbed my left arm and told me to give him my bike. I looked around and realized there were about 30 kids around 6 or 7 of whom were obviously with him.

I asked him why he wanted my bike. Instead of answering me, he simply told me to give him my bike again. As I spoke with him, I dropped my right hand down and rested it on my bike U lock under my seat and asked him a second time why he wanted my bike. I explained to him I needed it, it was my only means of transportation and one of my only belongings. Instead of responding to me, he simply told me again, to give him my bike. I asked him a third time why he wanted it. At this point one of his friends who had circled around me punched me in the back of my neck.

When he did this, I pulled my U lock free and brought it up in a threatening manner. The kid who had my arm let go and took a step back. When he did this I mounted my bike and road off.

Let me be clear. If he had come at me, I would have swung that lock at his head as hard as I could. And after hitting him, I would have brought it back around and swung it at the other guy to his side. I would not have hesitated for a second. Further more if I had been in possession of a gun, I would have pulled it, and if they had come at me I would have shot them.

I am truly grateful I was able to get out of the situation without injuring anyone or being to badly injured myself.

Now the point. A fight is not for fun. When you get in a fight with someone you are either trying to hurt them or trying to defend yourself. If you are in the position of having to defend yourself, you are entitled to defend yourself by any means necessary. Because by attacking you the other person has shown a willingness to cause you bodily harm and you have no idea how far they are willing to go. So yeah if you can not simply walk away, then yes, lethal force is justified.

That being said, do I know if lethal force was justified in the Zimmerman/Martin case? I have no clue at all. I was not there, I did not see what happened, I simply do not know. What I can not stand are the lies told to try to push an agenda, when the truth is not known and the people shouting they know the truth when there is no possible way they could.
