Tony Snow, Former White House Press Secretary and FOX News Anchor, Dies at 53
Tony Snow, the former White House press secretary and conservative pundit who bedeviled the press corps and charmed millions as a FOX News television and radio host, has died after a long bout with cancer. He was 53. A syndicated columnist, editor, TV anchor, radio show host and musician, Snow worked in nearly every medium in a career that spanned more than 30 years. Snow joined FOX in 1996 as the original anchor of FOX News Sunday, and hosted Weekend Live and a radio program, The Tony Snow Show, before departing in 2006. A sometime fill-in host for Rush Limbaugh, Snow said he loved the intimacy of his radio audience. "It's a tremendous loss for us who knew him, but it's also a loss for the country," Roger Ailes, Chairman of FOX News, said Saturday morning about Snow, calling him a "renaissance man." He fought the good fight and he will be missed.. ![]() FOXNews.com - Tony Snow, Former White House Press Secretary and FOX News Anchor, Dies at 53 |

I agree, The Baron. He had a certain quality about him, and I think it's that he genuinely loved what he did and loved the people in the room he was with....regardless of whether or not he agreed with them.

No you didn't use Fox News as a source! I don't give a good goddamn what anybody says about him....I have my own opinion.... He probably was a great guy...but I saw him stand up in numerous White House Press Corp meetings and lie about what the Bush administration was either saying or doing. That means that the job and the bright lights were more important to him than the truth....that ranks pretty near the bottom in my book. I'm just in shock that you would attempt to use Fox News to support your argument...knowing you're talking to "me". Dirt has more credibility. |

Ummm, you are making a de facto argument, that, somehow, what Fox News reported makes him a worthwhile human being, or, at least, "admirable".
I say "No", it does not. He lied. He lied for the Bush Administration. He "hemmed and hawwed", at the podium, when asked direct questions from reporters, notably, David Gregory, who is relentless in his asking of tough questions concerning the Bush administration policies. He was better and more congenial about it all, than Scott McClellan...but the fact remains that he was the mouthpiece for the forked tongued administration, who couldn't tell the truth if Bush's family's life were at stake. A top doesn't spin as much. Give me a friggin break. Mourn his loss as a human being, not for his friggin job or his questionable character or judgment. |
