I was sharing some articles from people who personally knew and loved Tony Snow for the man he was and what he meant to them. I think the man was worth honoring, remembering and recognizing at his passing. I make no apologies for it.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, whatever it may be, of Tony Snow. More than just being able to have an opinion, you also can share it here....which you are doing.

Seems fair to me....

Why is it so typical that some people insist on sliming people once they're dead primarily because they disagreed with them yet can't understand how anyone could do the same to those they agree with?

If you disliked Tony Snow and want to disuss that, feel free to open a different thread.

Otherwise, you're just opportunistically piling on in kind of a sickening manner.

Well, some people come on the internet to vent, and it makes them feel better about themselves. Of course, some people come home from work and beat their wife....and it makes them feel better about themselves.

You're right, it is rather sickening....

I say "No", it does not.
He lied. He lied for the Bush Administration. He "hemmed and hawwed", at the podium, when asked direct questions from reporters, notably, David Gregory, who is relentless in his asking of tough questions concerning the Bush administration policies.
He was better and more congenial about it all, than Scott McClellan...but the fact remains that he was the mouthpiece for the forked tongued administration, who couldn't tell the truth if Bush's family's life were at stake.
A top doesn't spin as much. Give me a friggin break.
Mourn his loss as a human being, not for his friggin job or his questionable character or judgment.
You need to take your head out of your arse and knock that chip off your shoulder. The man is dead, he was a good hardworking man, and the only respectful thing to say is that he rest in peace. All this other BS you can start on a new thread where you might find someone interested in discussing his professional achievements.

Good and bad people die everyday. Give each respect and let the Lord sort it all out.

I caught the "cut"...and I should clarify, since it was aimed at moi.
I vent in political debate forums because it helps me blow off steam out of frustration with "the system" and our lack of leadership in Washington.
I said nothing about doing it to make myself feel better about "myself".
I'm fine with me. In fact, I think I'm, personally, a "cut above", most of the "types" represented here. So don't worry about me...seems like you already have your hands full.
"Sickening" or not, Tony Snow may have been a wonderful human being, respected and admired by his colleagues, the fact remains that he was "the" talking head for the corrupt Bush administration, and repeatedly "lied", subterfuged, and spun misinformation about the policies and the "goings-on"....crap, in my book.

Wow, you're disrespectful and an egomaniac. Great combo platter there buddy... You're exactly the type of person most of us never want to know, which explains why you feel the need to go online to vent about a good person who just died.

Really? I thought he merely briefed the press regarding the administration's positions? That was his job description. Immediately prior to taking that job he was a conservative commentator who actually was reasonably critical of the Bush administration.

I assume you think the same of every official that ever served in any administration? What do you think of the Clinton administration officials. Are you naive enough to not realize that all spokespeople 'spin' information in a manner to their benefit ... or that in truth, all humans 'spin'? I think you are aware and I think you're just bitter and angry ... and classless enough to kick a corpse ... not satisfied in death, you're the type that needs to mutilate the body and drag it through the streets.

Yep ... you're no one I would ever want to know.
