Post On last night's episode of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart slammed the hypocrisy of Fox N

Quote:
On last night's episode of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart slammed the hypocrisy of Fox News for defending Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson's right to make homophobic remarks in the media."Their belief in free speech doesn't extend to the holidays when the word 'Christmas' is mandatory," Stewart said. He cited several examples of Fox News correspondents pressuring people to use the phrase "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays."

Stewart did, however, stand with Fox News on Robertson's right to free speech. "I think what the guy said was ignorant, but I also have an inclination to support a world where saying ignorant **** on television doesn't get you kicked off that medium."

Stewart once again nails it...
For all the people who whine about "PC"...
... yet perpetuate their own brand of "PC" with regards to whining about people saying "Happy Holidays"? Maybe you should take a look in the mirror.

When I was a child there was a very strict Baptist lady who was married to a laissez faire Catholic grocery store owner (not a rare match in our unique little town ) and since she had to work every holiday (because Stanley insisted on staying open to beat out his religious competitors ) she used to say it very fast so that hypocrites might take it as a slight of hearing, but the sarcastic crowd caught her salutation immediately at the end of each transaction

"merrychrissmyass!"

Stewart attacked Fox News? Shocker. So unlike him.

In other news, the sun is hot, water is wet, and Whitney Houston won't be puttin' out any more music for the radio to play to death and cause our ears to bleed.

The sad part is Jon is pretty funny, has talented writers, and could truly have a fresh, groundbreaking, hysterical show. Instead, he chooses to show his personal bias over and over by attacking the right 95% of the time and only takes an occasional jab at the left so the libs can point at this anomaly as proof Stewart is fair when rational people accuse him of being a partisan prick.

Stewart is a comedian, and a funny one at that. But that's it. He's no genius or great thinker. He's just a bias loon when it comes to politics like 99% of the people who post on political forums. All Stewart does is repeat what Carvell (soon to be Elliott Kalan), and his army of writers come up with.

Let's all pretend that it is not employers banning employees from saying "Merry Christmas" and government insisting that any expression of Christian faith in the public square must be considered promotion of religion by government. Let's see, you lose your job for saying Merry Christmas and the government busies itself kowtowing to aethiests, yep, pointing that out is whining.

Champions of tolerance need to look in the mirror after supporting A&E's decision to indefinitely suspend Phil Robertson to please a special interest group. The unflattering reflection they will see is of an angry lynch mob.

"I told him my students made cards, we'd like to bring them down for the veterans," Chapman told the television station. "And he said, 'That's great. We're thrilled to have them, except the only thing is, we can't accept anything that says ‘Merry Christmas' or ‘God bless you' or any scriptural references because of all the red tape.'"

Those who parade and scream for more tolerance are often the most intolerant.

Unless they were a church group I dont believe that. Proselytizing is against the chaplain rules (as it was in the 80s when I worked at the VA) because of the diversity of our vets, but one can go through the chaplain to be connected with those of that particular faith.
