Jon Stewart Mocks Media For Peddling Insane Obama Rumors - Media on The Huffington Post

So, word to some posters, here. The Obama smears aren't working...I don't know who you're trying to persuade, and see it more as "sour grapes", and quite frankly, "racist" in tone. And when the first Obama-McCain debate is done, you'll look quite ridiculous, as he will emerge the stronger candidate, and practical "shoo-in" for the presidency. Acceptance is the key.

Post Re: Jon Stewart Mocks Media For Peddling Insane Obama Rumors

An AP-Yahoo News poll in April showed that while three-fourths of people said terrorism was an important issue, voters ranked eight other issues as more important — the economy, gas prices, health care, the Iraq war, taxes, Social Security, political corruption and education. Of those calling terrorism an important issue, 41 percent said they'd vote for McCain while 30 percent said they'd choose Obama.

Terrorism may not be as potent a campaign issue as it once was.

The Associated Press: Analysis: McCain challenges Obama on terrorism

The "rumors" are, IMO, b.s. bantered about amongst people who have already decided that they would never vote for Barack in the first place.
The real important issues are above. And it would appear typically NOT addressed.
Iraq war? Maybe 100 years. Who cares...
Health Care? Evidently there is a suggestion for people to get a second job if they expect good health care. I laughed so hard I didn't think a reply was necessary for those who could see that suggestion for what it really was.
Political corruption? Bush deceived us, and those that care will question who is the straight-shooter in this election. (pssst. Is that McCain hugging Bush?)

There has been a lot of diversion in this election campaign so far. Rev Wright has been a huge talking point in the media and amongst anti-Obama-ites.
However, there is a poll out there showing that there is a larger concern for McCain's relation to Bush than for Obama's relation to Wright.
And yet the "liberal" MSM keeps spending more focus on Wright...

I think people are spinning their wheels trying to get traction, but I don't think it's working...

That's because a ton of people went back to the September 10th mentality...

We haven't been hit for 7 years, so it's not hitting close to home (pun intended)...If we were being hit once a year those numbers would dramatically change...

The ones who believe terrorism is the #1 issue (myself included) have NOT forgotten that millions of people are both directly and indirectly hoping, wishing, praying, and are actively attempting to repeat that fateful day in 2001...

Yeah.
And if wishes were horses then beggars would ride...

We are NOT being hit "once a year".

I thought we were "fighting them over there so we wouldn't have to fight them over here".

And that's part of the reason why some Republicans are so desparately out of touch.

Need health care? Get a second job.
Want to spend your tax refund on something other than gas? Time to try and push another Republican agenda for the issue.
Concerned about the economy? The rich aren't getting as much botox...

But we should ALL see the "war on terrorism" as the #1 issue, cause George Bush has been a failure / success (circle one) at it...

Can't have it both ways...
