I'm still looking for a candidate.
Sure hate to vote just to cancel an idiot's vote for Obama.
Well I'm voting for John McCain. And it's not just to cancel someone else. I think he is a true American. I also like the way he is not exactly the right wing's favorite son. And he had a chance to be veep but turned it down cause he really is a Republican unlike some of the cheap whores who call themselves Republican nowadays just to get elected.
Also I like his values and experience.

Sunday talk show tip sheet

Update for Sunday,June 29th

There’s a pack of governors heading to a TV screen near you soon, as the top officials from seven states hit the airwaves this Sunday to discuss how the presidential race will play out in their respective states.

On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” California Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger headlines the panel, where he’ll try to convince temporary host Tom Brokaw that Sen. John McCain will be able to compete in his state, which has traditionally been a Democratic stronghold.

Then Democratic Govs. Dave Freudenthal of Wyoming and Bill Ritter of Colorado discuss the political landscape in their respective states.

Finally, NBC Political Director Chuck Todd breaks down the political landscape in the Western states.

ABC’s “This Week” leads with a potentially explosive debate between Minnesota Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty and outspoken Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.), as two of the sharpest political minds around clash over the presidential race.

Then, host George Stephanopoulos sits down with longtime third-party candidate Ralph Nader, who is running for president for a fifth time.

Finally, Stephanopoulos leads a roundtable on the week’s developments with The Huffington Post's Arianna Huffington, National Review's Byron York, Townhall.com's Hugh Hewitt and The Nation's Katrina vanden Heuvel.

CNN’s “Late Edition” also leads with a pair of influential governors, as New Jersey Democrat Jon Corzine and Louisiana Republican Bobby Jindal discuss their respective parties’ nominees.

Jindal’s name has been floated as a possible vice presidential pick for McCain, while Corzine has worked closely with Obama on some key economic issues.

Next, host Wolf Blitzer gets an update on the situation in Iraq from Ryan Crocker, the U.S. ambassador there.

Then, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) stops by the program to tout a new Republican energy proposal unveiled on Thursday and to tout McCain, his Senate colleague.

Finally, longtime Clinton family aide Terry McAuliffe takes another turn on the Sunday morning talk shows to discuss the Clinton family’s role in the presidential campaign.

The parade of governors continues on “Fox News Sunday,” as Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell stops by to discuss politics in the Keystone State, which will be a key battleground in November.

Then, Fox host Chris Wallace discusses the race with former Rep. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), a close adviser to McCain and another name rumored to be near the top of McCain’s list of possible vice presidential picks.

Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr, a former Republican congressman from Georgia, rounds out the Fox lineup.

CBS’s “Face the Nation” features an interview with Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.), the former 2000 Democratic vice presidential nominee who left the party in 2006 and now supports McCain.

Next, host Bob Schieffer discusses the presidential race and the war in Iraq with retired general and Obama supporter Wesley Clark.

Finally, New York Times journalist David Sanger stops by the program to discuss the latest developments in North Korea.

Over on Bloomberg’s “Political Capital,” host Al Hunt sits down for an interview with Nebraska Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel.

And finally, C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” features an interview with Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D-Mich.), the chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Kilpatrick will take questions from AP’s Jesse Holland and The Hill’s Mike Soraghan.

What I like about Brokaw is that he is too old and respected to have to feel the need to kiss anyone's ass. So he'll do until David Gregory takes over.

I'll post this since you haven't yet:

Quote:
There are plenty of fireworks on the Sunday talk shows this Fourth of July weekend, as the presidential race heats up.

Two key campaign surrogates from the Senate appear this week on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” A week after his much buzzed-about interview with retired Gen. Wesley Clark, host Bob Schieffer talks with 2004 Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), an outspoken Barack Obama supporter.

After Kerry is Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), fresh off a trip with John McCain to Colombia, where the two senators were briefed by the Colombian government just hours before a dramatic hostage rescue operation deep in the Colombian jungle.

Will Graham offer any new details?

ABC’s “This Week” features a foreign policy debate between McCain backer Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Obama supporter Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.).

After what should be a heated exchange between the surrogates, host George Stephanopoulos interviews former Rep. Bob Barr (R-Ga.), who is running for president as a libertarian.

Could Barr siphon off enough votes from McCain to deliver his home state of Georgia for Obama?

Then, Stephanopoulos leads a roundtable discussion on the week’s events with Jonathan Capehart of The Washington Post, Michelle Cottle of The New Republic, Mark Halperin of Time and Ted Koppel of the Discovery Channel.

CNN’s “Late Edition” celebrates Wolf Blitzer’s 10-year anniversary with the program with a special tribute to the host. The two-hour retrospective will feature some of Blitzer’s classic interviews with world leaders including Nelson Mandela and prominent U.S. politicians including George W. Bush and Al Gore.

Bloomberg’s “Political Capital” also honors the holiday, as host Al Hunt discusses what the founding fathers would have thought about the upcoming presidential election with Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Joseph Ellis.

NBC’s “Meet the Press” is dark this weekend to make way for the Wimbledon tennis championships between Roger Federer of Switzerland and Rafael Nadal of Spain, neither of whom have made public their preferences, if any, in our presidential election.

And with millions of Americans hitting the road this holiday weekend, C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” features an interview with Transportation Secretary Mary Peters conducted by Christopher Conkey of The Wall Street Journal and Alan Levin of USA Today.

“Fox News Sunday” will feature host Brit Hume with what the Fox News website calls an “All-Star Power Panel” consisting of Fred Barnes and Bill Kristol of The Weekly Standard and Mara Liasson and Juan Williams of National Public Radio discussing, also according to the Fox News website, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Colombia, Mexico and several domestic political issues as well.

Enjoy the holiday weekend!
I'm certainly going to be sure to watch "This Week" but that's about all ... other than the fact that I always record/watch Charles CBS Sunday Morning show. I like the nature spots...

Lindsey Graham is weird. When he talks about Obama he looks visibly ill. Like he is about to puke. LOL I don't mind people having a difference of opinion. But he is rabid.

Sunday talk show tip sheet

Updated for 07/27/08

Quote:
It's a blockbuster Sunday on this weekend's talk shows, with both presidential contenders making the rounds — Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain.

Both senators — Obama of Illinois and McCain of Arizona — appear on CNN's "Late Edition," while Obama takes a turn on NBC and McCain on to ABC.

Ending his 10-day overseas trip — from Afghanistan and Iraq to Jordan and Israel to Germany, France and England — Obama does a special NBC "Meet the Press" show from London.

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee gets the full hour with moderator Tom Brokaw, plenty of time for a good grilling.

Will Obama end on a high note? Or will the "Meet" interview generate the sort of gaffe that the McCain camp has been so desperately hoping for?

McCain himself will surely have plenty to say on Obama's trip and on his own campaign when he sits down with George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "This Week."

Expect plenty of strong words from McCain, who repeated his incendiary claim Friday that Obama "would rather lose a war than lose a campaign" in regards to Iraq, a statement that has enraged many on the left.

After McCain, Stephanopoulos breaks down a busy week of presidential politics with ABC's Matthew Dowd, Sam Donaldson, Cokie Roberts and George Will.

CNN's "Late Edition" lands the presidential candidate twofer, with appearances by both Obama and McCain.

First, McCain sits for an interview with host Wolf Blitzer. Then, Obama follows as CNN exclusively broadcasts from the Unity journalists' forum in Chicago. McCain was invited, too, but declined.

CBS's "Face the Nation," also leads with Obama's overseas jaunt, featuring interviews with Sens. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.) and Jack Reed (D-R.I.), who accompanied Obama on the Middle East leg of the trip.

Will the two senators offer any new details on Obama's meetings with foreign leaders in the region?

"Fox News Sunday" features a pair of presidential campaign surrogates in the Senate: John Thune (R-S.D.), an enthusiastic McCain supporter, and Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), an outspoken Obama backer.

Will Thune address the reports that he's on McCain's short list of vice presidential candidates? And what about McCaskill running with Obama?

Afterward, Bush adviser Karl Rove, now a Fox News analyst, offers his views on the mid-summer makeup of the electoral map.

On Bloomberg's "Political Capital" this weekend, host Al Hunt interviews Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, a dark-horse vice presidential prospect for Obama.

Finally, C-SPAN's "Newsmakers" focuses on an issue on everyone's mind these days: skyrocketing gasoline prices.

Sunday talk show tip sheet

Updated for Sunday 08/17/08

Quote:
It’s another round of vice presidential auditioning on this Sunday’s talk shows, as a slew of hopefuls try to make a lasting impression before Barack Obama and John McCain chose their running mates.

On another front, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Secretary Robert Gates make the rounds to discuss the still-volatile situation in the Republic of Georgia.

Rice does a trifecta, appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” CBS’s “Face the Nation” and “Fox News Sunday.”

Gates stops by ABC’s “This Week” and CNN’s “Late Edition” to discuss the conflict between Russia and Georgia, which took a troubling turn in recent days as invading Russian forces lingered in Georgian territory.

After Rice, who’s returning from Georgia to brief President Bush over the weekend at his Texas ranch, “Face the Nation” features a debate between Minnesota Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Indiana Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh, both reported be near the top of the veep lists.

Can Pawlenty hold his own against seasoned Sunday show guest Bayh?

After Rice, “Meet the Press” also has a high-profile potential veep showdown between Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal and Virginia Democratic Gov. Tim Kaine.

Can either deliver the knockout blow that the Obama and McCain campaigns will be watching for?

Following that tussle, moderator Tom Brokaw leads a roundtable on the week’s politics with The Atlantic’s Josh Green and NBC’s Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd.

Viewers should note that “Meet” will be airing at different times across the country due to NBC’s continuing coverage of the Beijing Olympics. So, check your local listings.

After Gates, “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos interviews former Massachusetts Republican Gov. Mitt Romney, who’s also in the mix as a potential McCain running mate.

Stephanopoulos also chats with former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) who’s been busy, tamping down speculation in recent weeks that he, too, is in the running as possible Obama running mate.

Will Daschle put the issue to bed? Or could he be an August surprise?

Rounding out “This Week,” Stephanopoulos breaks down another week on the campaign trail with The Brooking Institution's E.J. Dionne, the Council on Foreign Relations' Michael Gerson, and ABC's Jan Crawford Greenburg and George Will.

The VP auditions continue on “Fox News Sunday” after Rice, as former Pennsylvania Republican Gov. Tom Ridge and Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) discuss the presidential race.

Might Obama pick McCaskill, a friend and fellow senator, as a running mate? And what about Ridge for McCain?

CNN’s “Late Edition” follows Gates with a debate between Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.), a key McCain supporter, and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.).

Host Wolf Blitzer also chats with another vice presidential possibility for Obama, New Mexico Democratic Gov. Bill Richardson.

Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.) rounds out the CNN lineup with a likely discussion of the Russian-Georgian standoff.

C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” features an interview with David Sandalow of The Brookings Institution, who’s advising the Obama campaign on energy issues.

He’ll be interviewed by energy correspondents Stephen Power of The Wall Street Journal and Tina Seeley of Bloomberg.

Finally, Bloomberg’s “Political Capital” features interviews with Pennsylvania Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell and former Rep. Vin Weber (R-Minn.), who’s advised Romney.
