Default Reporters applaud Obama's slam on Romney's wealth

What bias?...

Reporters applaud Obama's slam on Romney's wealth

Quote:
The room set aside for reporters to watch Tuesday night's debate erupted into applause after President Obama ridiculed the size of Mitt Romney's personal wealth.

Mr. Romney was trying to make the point that both his and Mr. Obama's investment funds probably include investments in China — something the president has attacked Mr. Romney for.

"Mr. President, have you looked at your pension?" Mr. Romney said.

"You know, I don't look at my pension. It's not as big as yours, so it — it doesn't take as long," Mr. Obama retorted. His reply prompted laughter in the debate hall where the two men were squaring off — but across the way in the separate room where the press was stationed, a brief round of applause broke out.

In fact, the entire exchange was supposed to be about immigration....

Quote:
In an exchange over immigration, Mitt Romney tried to return to a previous charge by President Barack Obama about his investments in Chinese companies, which make surveillance equipment that allow the communist government to spy on dissidents.

"Any investments I have over the last eight years have been managed by a blind trust and I understand they do include investments outside of the United States, including Chinese companies," said Romney, who criticized Sen. Ted Kennedy's blind trust as an age-old ruse in the 1994 Senate race.

"Mr. President have you looked at your pension?"

"Have you looked at your pension?" Romney said, turning to Obama and walking toward him.

"I don't look at my pension. It's not as big as yours, so it doesn't take as long," Obama said to laughter.

"Let me give you some advice," said Romney. "Let me give you some advice: You also have investments in Chinese companies, you also have investments outside of the United States. You also have investments in a Cayman trust."

Obama then turned the discussion turned back to immigration.

Like I said looking back on it it was a reality show. The audience would have really gone wild if Romney had gotten in Obama's face and Obama had clocked him with a round house haymaker.
In fact every election after that candidates all over the world would have tried to compete so their rating would go up! (punch a button to make an instant donation while you watch)

Headline should have read: "Obama admits to Romney that 'mine isn't as big as yours'"

Then you have loads of examples form reporters applauding a Republican's "joke" or other comments in the press pool...

In a room set aside for reporters to watch Tuesday night's debate I would expect reporters to show their humanity and sense of humor more openly than on camera regardless of any political bias real or imagined. The joke was funny and I would've been more concerned if reporters were stoic and totally unresponsive even in the press room...

Obama has built a large part of his campaign around attacking Romney for his wealth. At one point claiming Romney's sole interest in running was to lower taxes on rich people like himself. But it is all good humor when the "objective" press cheers for their chosen candidate.

In that press room set aside for reporters,I wonder if they had it sectioned off. One side for the "objective" reporters and the other reserved for the liberal media and how did they go about deciding who sat on what side? and how can they be so cock sure that no objective reporter was among those who applauded the remark? We cannot be sure of this, so in my opinion, the argument is subjective.

I understand your point but is it possible a few of those obviously "objective" reporters also thought the joke that Obama made was funny?. When Reagan said to his liberal opponent.. "I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience." I have no doubt in my mind that a "few" liberals laughed at the remark against their hero. We need to laugh more and understand that it's good for us, as opposed to biting our tongues in order to "appear" objective and unbiased. It was a funny remark,at least to some of us it was funny including members of the press.
