What's an Assault Weapon?



Any weapon is an assault weapon to the anti-gun crowd.

Just out of curiousity, does this come from the same pamphlet that claims Democrats are out to ban the bible in the United States?
Or can you actually reference significant groups which are doing as this JPEG complains?

Otherwise, I guess I should fire up photo-shop, start making some of my own JPEGs, and pretending they are worthy of starting a thread...

A: No. The definition of an assault weapon is tightly drawn. Only semi-automatic guns with multiple assault weapon features are banned (see below). Traditional guns designed for use in hunting and recreational activities are not affected. To alleviate concerns that hunting weapons somehow might be affected, the law provides specific protection to 670 types of hunting rifles and shotguns that are presently being manufactured. The list is not exhaustive and a gun does not have to be on the list to be protected. Again, the only weapons that are prohibited are those with multiple assault weapon features.

that is pure BS. An assault weapon is light, large magazined weapon that is reliable and easy to use like the AK74. It will either shoot automatic or semi auto.

I own several guns and I do shoot them. I own a couple of bolt action hunting rifles.
I have killed 5 deer in my life and enjoyed eating the venison.

I don't like Bush and Cheney. I don't like Gingritch or Rice.

I am Liberal and Democrat. I want to be armed so I can participate in the New American Revolution that will restore our democray and save the world.
