New California declares "independence" from rest of state

SACRAMENTO ó With the reading of their own version of a Declaration of Independence, founders of the state of New California took the first steps to what they hope will eventually lead to statehood. CBS Sacramento reports they don't want to leave the United States, just California.

"Well, it's been ungovernable for a long time. High taxes, education, you name it, and we're rated around 48th or 50th from a business climate and standpoint in California," said founder Robert Paul Preston.

The state of New California would incorporate most of the state's rural counties, leaving the urban coastal counties to the current state of California.

"There's something wrong when you have a rural county such as this one, and you go down to Orange County which is mostly urban, and it has the same set of problems, and it happens because of how the state is being governed and taxed," Preston said.

This is most likely right wingers that get tired of paying for all of the illegals and the lazy. I would probably feel the same way if my state was that far over the edge.

Why would anyone object to being enslaved to the absolute Democrat controlled failed state of California? Just look at how successfully the Democrat overlords have managed the state's economy.

Quote:
which state has the highest poverty rate in the country? Not Mississippi, New Mexico, or West Virginia, but California, where nearly one out of five residents is poor. Thatís according to the Census Bureauís Supplemental Poverty Measure, which factors in the cost of housing, food, utilities and clothing, and which includes noncash government assistance as a form of income.

Given robust job growth and the prosperity generated by several industries, itís worth asking why California has fallen behind, especially when the stateís per-capita GDP increased approximately twice as much as the U.S. average over the five years ending in 2016 (12.5%, compared with 6.27%).

Of course the California Democrat hegemony is unconcerned about actual results. Who needs results when demogogery and bluster is all that is needed to get reelected.

Some people object to paying taxes to an ineffective state government.

You claim the 'right wingers' don't want to pay taxes. Without a doubt, there are some that will claim that, but in general, most don't mind paying some taxes, when they are truly used for the benefit of ALL people, not just the select, protected groups. When money is pissed away on programs that are redundant, or dysfunctional, when taxes are directed to assist groups that are here illegally, taxes used for pork-belly projects.

You paint your posts as absolutes, black and white, with no shades of gray. It's not reality, never has been, never will be.

I don't think anyone really likes any of those things.

I'm related to a number of 'right wingers' who live in the State of California. My sentiment stands - most don't mind paying some taxes that benefit the citizens.

Don't see it getting fixed, but perhaps you know something that I don't. If it were being seriously addressed, why do taxes in CA keep going up?

I think the inebriated part may have something to do with it. Clouds reason and common sense.

The conservatives are trying to secede from the CA state of liberalism.
You missed the point 100%.

I think that's the view of most Americans.

I don't know anything you propably don't. But I know California has a massive economy and a massive population. They are burdened by a huge immigrant population more than most states and they also try to help those people as best they can. We aren't called bleeding hearts for nothing. But California's weakness in accepting immigrants with open arms is also a strength for this nation as a whole. But that's where you guys come in and say hey chill out a bit, we still got bills to pay, can't save everyone.

I don't know the answer I just wish we could all take a deep breath and have a beer and talk stuff out.
