Default California Town Hall Meeting Medicare For All

California SB 562 Town Hall Meeting (Universal Healthcare) (Single-Payer) (Medicare For All)

I think this is exciting whether it passes or not, because California, Texas and New York are still the initiators of reform and new ideas. It's easier to take off nationally if one of these states is involved in passing it.

We can not afford it.

Besides those States you mention are liberal strong holds, (Texas not so much) and as of now are there are so few of those, they really don't matter much any more.

Australia has medicare for all and it works real good. Even Trump knows that.

I'm talking about trends. And politics are included in that but it's done by influence-people moving about and bringing their ideas with them or others moving in, liking what's going on and writing home about it. I forgot to mention Florida has traditionally been one of those states. Mainly these are all ports of entry, melding places for an exchange and play off on others' ideas. This is how you got the tie dyed tshirt, the tech boom, L &R homosexual laws, dance crazes, womens' rights, etc. Just a whole host of trends that catch on.
and they are very relevant due to population. when something fails it fades but when it succeeds everybody wants to try a form of the new idea.

Strange that we'll take and adapt almost any other idea from other countries; but single-payer health care for all, something that costs less than our system and covers more is somehow a non-starter for many still. We spend more than the rest and just don't get our money's worth.

Even looking at just public spending, apples to apples, we spend more per capita than most other countries that have some form of universal health care. We're being ripped off.

At least this is a state-level matter, which is the correct way to do it rather than forced on the whole country. I have the choice to not live in California should I so choose. And I DO choose to not live there.
