Post Justice vetoes budget by unveiling bull manure

Quote:
The governor’s veto means lawmakers will be called back into special session in order to adopt a spending plan before the July 1 start of the new fiscal year. No date has been set for that session.

Justice presented his own budget plan to lawmakers in early February. He changed it a few times during the past 60-plus days but it basically included an increase in the consumer sales tax, a B&O tax on businesses and a rich man’s tax.

The legislature’s budget doesn’t include any of those revenue enhancements neither does the spending plan include Justice’s multi-million dollar proposal to fix the state’s highways. That plan would have raised DMV fees and Turnpike tolls.

The budget passed by the House and Senate cuts $110 million in spending, most of that from higher education and the state Division of Health and Human Resources. It also takes $90 million from the Rainy Day Fund. That move would take the state below a fund balance encouraged by Wall Street bond rating agencies.

Using whiteboards to lay out the cuts contained in the legislature’s budget, Justice ripped into lawmakers.

“The Republicans passed this budget and called and called and called and said, ‘surely you are going to veto this because we don’t want to own it. We want you to veto it’,” Justice said. “It’s just a game and it doesn’t mean anything.”

Justice said he’s pushing back against what he said are immature antics at the capitol.

“We don’t have to be a bunch of babies, we don’t have to be a bunch of children, we don’t have to be one-upping the other party all the time,” Justice said. “If we’re this way, you know what we’ll get done? Nothing.”

The Governor childishly presents a pile of manure as his veto then claims Republicans are playing games. Obama style partisan politics like this poison the well for productive negotiations but the grandstanding excites the partisan bobbleheads on the Left.

What a courageous Governor insisting on raising taxes to fund vote buying schemes then refusing to even try to find common ground.

The legislature passed a budget they did not want put into effect, and you blindly blame the governor.

Your partisan b.s. posting is still in high gear I see...

The same Governor that pulled the stunt with a pile of manure claims the legislature was playing partisan games which you accept without question. A little cheap theatrics is all it takes to elicit the anti Republican partisan hared. What is next burning state legislators in effigy?

Have you even looked to see if anybody in the legislature is denying the situation?
No. Of course you haven't. He's a Dem so immediately you assume your side is pristine and the Dem must be lying.

The evidence of Repub b.s. efforts are observable repeatedly in nature.
Obamacare being another perfect example.
With Obama in office, Repubs tried repeatedly in obviously failed efforts to outright repeal Obamacare. Each attempt doomed to failure.
But, then at the start of 2017 everything shifted. They got the presidency and a majority in both sections of Congress. They could repeal Obamacare, if they really wanted to.

But then what happened? Did they repeal it? Did they try to repeal it?
No. Then suddenly they throw together a ridiculously half-assed replacement attempt which the public hated and not even their own party could swallow.

Another example?
How about how they demand that the budget be balanced and the deficit be reduced, but when they get in power THEY NEVER EVEN TRY to accomplish this and people like you NEVER hold them accountable...

You're drawing conclusions WAAAAAAY too early in the game on this.
There's evidence they are about to try again soon, so your claim they don't really "want" to is ridiculous.
White House pressures GOP leaders on Obamacare showdown next week - POLITICO

The problem here is you aren't giving your side in Congress enough credit. It's hard to overturn something like this even with a majority if it's not an overwhelming majority (which it's not). That doesn't mean Republicans don't want to. Not everything is a conspiracy theory, Foundit.

Sorry, I am not obligated to determine the validity of statements made by a Governor who thinks piles of manure are a serious budgeting tool. If you believe this childish tantrum indicates someone capable of reason then prove his claim about the Republican legislature wanting him to veto the budget otherwise you are playing with piles on manure just like the Governor.

As for your attempts at distraction with blind partisan hate. Republicans passed 50 Obamacare reform bills the Senate simply ignored. Republicans put a major Obamacare reform bill on President Obama's desk, he vetoed it. The first bill the Republican controlled House passed to raise the debt ceiling contained a requirement for a balanced budget amendment, the Senate tabled it.

Thank you for providing the next example of your partisan hatred.
HOW MANY TIMES did Republicans raise the debt ceiling under previous Repub presidents?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histor...s_debt_ceiling

But a Dem president tries it, and you guys freak out.

And this crap about "balanced budget"?
We both know Trump's first budget will raise our deficit.
You guys only care about demanding OTHERS balance the budget, but your own politicians don't care. Reagan? Bush Sr? Bush Jr?
ALL RAISED our deficit.
And you guys don't give a damn.

Clinton & Obama LOWERED the deficit. And you guys won't give any credit for them accomplishing something you never pressed for your own party's presidents to do.
You guys currently have BOTH House & Senate and the presidency.
Will you pass the balanced budget amendment now?
Of course you won't even care...
