Just another typical day in the "D".

Everytime crime rises in this city, people get all up in arms, as they should. They hold marches against violence. Form committees, hold news conferences, get churches involved. People from all over the suburbs come in to help. And then, after a week or so all is forgotten and we go about the business at hand.

Many people in Detroit have come to accept crime as a way of life and if you aren't touched by a crime you are one of the lucky ones.

Poor schools, high crime, political corruption run amok, and high taxes, but, the city leaders can't understand why they are losing citizens left and right.

Too bad the guy over reacted but can you blame him? I hope he (the shooter) doesn't end up in prison. I wish he had just refunded the darn money.

I won't. I am hoping (depending on circumstances) to go to New York this November. I have always wanted to see it.

NO lurpy don't worry about me, I just grieve for a once great city that I called home for almost 50 years. There are a lot of good memories from my youth in that city, but I think it's day is done.

Like you said many of our big cities are doing the same downward spiral.
