Default Cops Slashing tires at protest

Cops Slashing tires at protest...

But hey I'm sure there's a good reason for it,
I mean the cars shouldn't be on the road... or parked in parking lots... near cops... in America
I mean everyone knows park near a bear... and you get what you deserve!
And obviously the parked cars were a threat to the well armed police. the videos shows the parked cars moved.. or should have moved so... there ya go.

Law enforcement officers in Minnesota slashed the tires of cars parked near demonstrations against police brutality in May 2020.

Quote:
“State Patrol troopers strategically deflated tires … in order to stop behaviors such as vehicles driving dangerously and at high speeds in and around protesters and law enforcement,” Gordon said.

Gordon said the patrol also targeted vehicles “that contained items used to cause harm during violent protests” such as rocks, concrete and sticks.

“While not a typical tactic, vehicles were being used as dangerous weapons and inhibited our ability to clear areas and keep areas safe where violent protests were occurring,” he said. … Deputies from Anoka County followed state orders and joined the patrol and also cut the tires on vehicles on Washington Avenue, said Anoka County Sheriff’s Lt. Andy Knotz.
New to me, but I'm not versed in law enforcement tactics...What I'd like to know is if this a widely accepted practice or just made up by some supervisor on the fly to prevent another Charlottesville?...

This New York police officer would disagree with your statement.

Since when do State Troopers wear camo?

If this did indeed happen, it is wrong, wrong, wrong.

um ok...
So the cops have military gear out the arse, but don't have Tire Locks or the ability to call Tow Trucks to move cars anymore?
are we really supposed to buy that?

Smells like more lame police CYA BS to me.
Given out for those that will support police no matter what they do.
Like Trump said of his best supporters "i could shoot someone in the the middle of Time Square and not lose any support."
Police (and Military) have got it like that.
A nearly blind loyalty from a certain portion of the public who manage to see "legit" justifications for their actions no matter how immoral.
it's almost like Stockholm syndrome or something.

ok, Cop struck by car... of man fleeing from a police Traffic Stop.

Traffic stop and Protest... not the same.
An empty car parked near protest. is Nothing like a traffic stop.
Btw the last time you were pulled over for a traffic stop did the cop slash your tires for their safety?

or are you staying that ALL car tires should be slashed when police are in the area... to protect cops from potential danger.
There's no connection between what you posted and what the police are doing to EMPTY cars. some sitting in parking lots.

I didn't say anything about the cops puncturing the tires. I was merely responding to Dave who said that cops have not been run over by cars.

Perhaps you should re-read what I posted instead of blasting me for something I had not said.

You appear to be very passionate about this topic. You even attacked cnredd when all he did was question the practice. I thought you were a little more of a reasoned poster than this. Maybe I was wrong.

My statement was in reference to protesters and cops getting run over as an excuse to slash tires....

Your example had nothing to do with this thread.....

My bad, I grabbed the wrong video. Here is the one I was referring to:
