One reviewer: Balanced and well considered documentary concerning the use of force by civilian police forces in America

The main subject of this documentary, former Sheriff William "Dub" Lawrence factually demonstrates in several instances the failure of police to defuse situations . This is including the situation that resulted in the death of Dub's Son-in-law. As a former Sheriff responsible for the organization of his county's first SWAT team in the 1970's, he has unimpeachable credentials that qualify him to comment and critique the direction of America's civilian police forces. Indeed, when I think of police officers as they are meant to be I now have a face with which to associate those thoughts.
It is also fortunate that within the documentary are examples of blind confidence in the infallibility of law enforcement. Demonstrating what I personally have come to recognize as symptoms of the modern approach to law enforcement: The lack of accountability, the lack of introspection, and the lack of respect given those whom they are tasked to protect.
Police officers should look like police officers. They should not look like soldiers. They should not look like civilians. The deployment of specially trained and equipped police teams in inappropriate situations, for which serving warrants is an example, is a failure to recognize that these actions reduce the opportunity to make appropriate situational decisions. Not only for the police officers. In such compressed situations, the fight or flight response is triggered all too often leading to tragic consequences.
Overall, a very well organized look at the alarming trend of police forces to use unforgivably inappropriate force and the impact of that force upon all whom are involved. "
