In this particular case, the officers absolutely are saying the sex was consensual. Although they have been charged, if the prosecution can not provide enough evidence to convince a jury that it wasn't consensual, they may not be convicted because consensual sex is not rape.

I'm saying I would support a law that says, "It doesn't matter if it was consensual or not. If this person is IN YOUR CUSTODY, you shouldn't be doing it and if you do, you are going to face criminal charges."

Also, having consensual sex while on shift for just about any job in public service should be a fire-able offense. But it shouldn't be a criminal issue, it should be a policy issue. Private companies can do what they want.

No I don't think it's OK. If you took that away from my posts, then I wasn't clear.

Probation does not protect them from retaliation. I would not want to be in their shoes for any amount of money.

No, it isn't justice. Given the breach of trust, nothing short of a life sentence would be justice.

The judge should be facing charges of corrption and the prosecution should get kicked in the nuts for not getting anything in writting....

What a terrible example of idiots not doing the right thing....

Hope the girl sues the cops in civil court....
