Default Justice Department to Release FISA Documents on Carter Page Today

This is probably a good time to remind everyone that on December 12, 2016, Carter Page told a conference in Moscow that he “had the pleasure” of meeting with Rosneft executives, and RT later edited that part out of the video of him speaking. This was within the days immediately after the 19.5% stake in Rosneft was sold, as alleged by the dossier.

At that same presentation, Carter Page showed a pre-prepared slide talking about how Rex Tillerson would be so much better as Secretary of State than Hillary Clinton. Dec. 12 was the day before Trump announced Tillerson as SoS in the US, and Page had supposedly left the campaign months before the election.

The U.S. Department of Justice is expected to turn over documents on Friday related to FISA [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] warrants they obtained for former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. The warrants have drawn an extreme amount of controversy, due to questions over the basis for the warrant application, and the apparent lack of full disclosure regarding where the underlying information came from.

Because the GOP is actively covering up tRUmps crimes. They've lost the culture war. They'd lose the voting war in a fair fight. The only way they will keep in power is to move in a Soviet-style direction. If Democrats do not take back Congress this year, and possibly even if they do, things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. Mueller is coming, but ultimately the only real remedy for tRUMp and the complicit members of the GOP is a political one. Voters gotta vote. And we have to do it in such an overwhelming fashion so as to overcome all the gerrymandering, voter purges, russia's ongoing cyberwar on our very democracy, and straight up lying and cheating by the Republicans.

Yep, and no matter how bad Trump gets, his braindead supporters will always be able to convince themselves that Obama was worse and Hillary would have been a disaster.

I would hope that the copy of the FISA application is highly redacted because this still pertains to ongoing criminal investigation and the release of this information to anyone outside of those in the DOJ/FBI not working on the case, including it's prior release to members of Congress, is a violation of DOJ/FBI policy and procedures going back for 70 years.

Republicans in the House were quick to release parts of this highly sensitive and confidential information, including classified material within minutes of receiving it for purely political reasons and then to lie about the FISA validity of the application. Those lies continue to be believed today foremost of which is that the DNC/Clinton campaign funded Christopher Steel's "dossier" and at that based upon their directions he fabricated the contents of the "dossier" (memos to the FBI). The DNC/Clinton campaign never had a contractual relationship with Steele, never made any payments to Steele, never had any communications with Steele, never directed Fusion GPS to forward directions to Steele, and never even saw the memos that Steele sent to the FBI. In fact the DNC/Clinton campaign had no knowledge whatsoever about Steele prior to the public release of Steels memos. There's also the persistent lie that the Steele memos aren't verified but that's false. James Comey, when informing president elect Trump of the memos, told Trump that much of the information in the memos had been verified by independent intelligence source and in some cases the FBI had the same intelligence that Steele provided prior to Steele contacting the FBI.

I used to believe that was only for Trump's edification and to cherry pick from secret documents they then threw out to their base of supporters.
But I wonder if there is another reason. That being to seed Russian intelligence who take note of everything for future use for bribery and disruption.
For one thing Russians may glean more about who's who and what power they wield (in private) and what their strategy is. Then maybe beam in on that person or political relationship to find out more about their weaknesses.
just a random thought in this crazy configuration.

Who bought the shares of Rosneft? The dossier for dummies doesn't say. But that doesn't stop the mindless Resistance zealots from speculation.

That Tillerson was being looked at for SoS was not exactly secret.

Two examples of Trump hate fueled fantasy. Where is the proof? Oh wait...
