Again he shows himself to be out of touch with some of the situation. He is right with much of it except for this part.

Quote:
you look at Chicago and you look at other places." "So many of the problems are caused by gang members, many of whom are not even legally in our country," said Trump. "And we will work with you on the frontlines to keep America safe from terrorism, which is what I began this with."
Chicago's drug problem is a local one by local neighborhood persons (as is in other larger cities) The parents as well as these gang members were born here. The inner city failed them if you listen to the version they tell, I am inclined to
believe them to a point.
And that is the cities could have had more to offer in the way of education enhancing programs, overall better plans for these inner city neighborhoods up to a point in which these locals be involved and take part in helping with each program and improvement.
Back to the topic, most from a young age were groom to become involved with the gangs and the activities these gangs are involved with.. And knowing who each is by name, nick name doesn't matter. As our own laws protect these criminals. And the ACLU is ready to help defend them.

I agree with those who say making the one drug not worthy to be illegal to be taken off the federal narc., list of dangerous drug.

Make legal which in a small way can reduce the over all problems the police, courts, and prisons are having. Yet that leave plenty of other choices in the drug trade, and pot will still be sold by illegal dealers.

Drug-hurling catapult found attached to U.S.-Mexico border fence
Feb. 16, 2017 -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection said border patrol agents found a catapult attached to a U.S.-Mexico border fence designed to hurl drugs into Arizona.
Quote:
Douglas Station Border Patrol agents made the discovery on Friday when they saw several people on the Mexican side of the border quickly retreat once the agents approached. "When agents arrived at the fence they found a catapult system attached to the south side of the border fence. They searched the area and located two bundles of marijuana" weighing more than 47 pounds combined, U.S. CBP said in a statement on Tuesday.

U.S. Border Patrol agents found a drug-hurling catapult mechanism attached to the U.S.-Mexico border fence in Arizona on Friday. The agents also found nearly 50 pounds of marijuana nearby.

U.S. agents contacted Mexican law enforcement authorities, who launched an investigation. U.S. Border Patrol agents dismantled the catapult system, which Mexican authorities seized.

U.S. President Donald Trump has vowed to build a wall, with some fencing, along the U.S.-Mexico border to prevent the flow of illegal immigration and drugs into the United States.

Many users started with prescription drugs. In fact most did. Leave pot smokers alone. Pot is not a gateway drug. It's nothing like heroin. It's like saying coffee leads to beer use.

What ever....... But you missed the important factor, choices.. People make choices and many make the wrong choices.

When I came home from the Nam, my friends that didn't go into the Military were sticking there arms to look like they had used drugs, to avoid the Military.

And when I got home they were doing smack. I started to. But in less than a year I cleaned up and stopped cold turkey.

I drank a bit to much and quit that to in a few years. But I kept using pot till about 10 years ago.
I also stopped smoking cigarettes cold turkey. I made a few bad choices and when I realized it I made the proper choices and stopped using.

I would love to have another joint but the risk makes it not worth while. Plus I have no way of even getting any if I did want to start again.

But if KS., does allow for it I will buy it. As before I die I would love to smoke a legal joint.

Now if I could make the right choices so can any one else....

I don't know about you, but I drink coffee in the morning and beer at night. Could be that coffee leads and beer finishes.

Seriously though, the war on drugs has been as ineffective as the war on poverty.
I say we abandon both.

I've not seen any reliable evidence the two are related. It almost certainly true that some previous MJ users now prefer other drugs, but that's different from connecting the two.

I've known dozens of MJ users. I know of none of these that have moved on to harder drugs.
