Three wounded, one critically, in shooting at Phoenix office complex

By M. Alex Johnson, staff writer, NBC News

Three people were shot and wounded Wednesday, one of them with life-threatening injuries, when a gunman opened fire at a Phoenix office complex, authorities said.

One of the three victims sustained "extremely critical" injuries, while the two others were less severely wounded, police said, correcting their earlier report that all three had been critically injured.

Two or three other people were taken to hospitals for "stress-related" conditions after the incident at a complex near 16th Street and Glendale Avenue, authorities said.

Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said the gunman was not in custody and that authorities were seeking an "older white male." Police said shell casings at the scene indicated that at least two weapons were used.

It's the media. They're going to report them all. Or at least most of them apparently. Hell, there's some dude with a bb gun shooting people in georgia and folks are getting all freaked out about that.

I'm amazed the number of imbeciles shooting off their firearms to celebrate the New Year weren't lengthily reported.

Wait and see the out come from this anti gun mess and next N.Y. eve plenty might go to jail for using any gun, thats if we can still own one.

Yet that is very unsafe to do, period for most Americans in cities, yet in some it is done by mostly the gangs. And that is what they should be going after. As Obama was a steet communicator and knows who have some of these guns and use them to do crimes or shoot others from different gangs.

As should most Americans if they are truly informed. Heck just watch Gang Land on TV.

I know I won't be able to have one if Obama has his way with P.T.S.D. and unlike him and his staff and some liberal Sentors I don't have a large squad of protecters to keep me safe.

I do know I am so feed up with American Politics I will never vote again, even for a dog catcher.

I have had it with any Politician and it is all over these Progressive idiots who want to run America or run it into the ground just because they don't like the Constitution the way it is.

And some of us did warn other it could come to this. Yet even the left thought we were nut jobs and said that would never happen.

Well with his executive orders it is being done NOW!

Have you ever been to Pheonix? I am surprised this hasn't happened sooner.

Yep I have bt a long time ago. During my days of traveling. I and two other Vets lived on a mining claim, just 5 miles out of Apache Junction going away from these cities.

And on our Local News last night I saw where this shooter had killed himself inside a row of bushes...

So ends this affair.

Also later on I heard there were over 200 shooting by 6 PM, yesterday. We are a mad lot of people.

Again how many were gangs wasn't mentioned. And this is the big problem as I see it.
Don't mis-understand my point. Any shooting is bad & has results.

But in cities like Oakland or Chicago most of the shootings are gang related as are in LA, CA.

Now my point is this: If Obama met with Police Chiefs from any one of these cities.
Well why hasn't there been a distinction between gangs and citizens shootings?

This has to be made clear & the media must find the truth to make these headline Titles, they use.

This is the latest news on this shooting. Sadly one did die of the three who were shot.

.Law firm: Phoenix lawyer dies from shooting wounds

By WALTER BERRY | Associated Press 4 hrs ago.

PHOENIX (AP) A lawyer wounded by a gunman in a Phoenix office shooting this week has died, the second of three people hit by gunfire in the attack, the publicist for his law firm said Friday.

Mark Hummels, 43, had been on life support at a Phoenix hospital after Wednesday morning's shooting that killed a company's chief executive and left a woman with non-life threatening injuries.

Colleagues of Hummels described him as a smart, competent and decent man who was a rising star in his profession and dedicated to his wife, 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son.

The gunman Arthur Douglas Harmon, 70 was found dead early Thursday in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Harmon opened fire at the end of a mediation session at a north-central Phoenix office building over a lawsuit he filed last April.

Steve Singer, 48, a father of two and CEO of Scottsdale-based Fusion Contact Centers LLC, died hours after the shooting.

Harmon targeted Singer and Hummels and "it was not a random shooting," police said. A 32-year-old woman not involved in the mediation was caught in the gunfire near the building entrance and suffered a gunshot wound to her left hand.

Fusion had hired Harmon to refurbish office cubicles at two call centers in California.

Hummels worked with the Phoenix law firm Osborn Maledon and focused on business disputes, real estate litigation and malpractice defense. He died Thursday night, publicist Athia Hardt told The Associated Press early Friday.

He was a reporter for the Albuquerque Journal and Santa Fe New Mexican before he left to go to law school in 2001. He graduated first in his class at the University of Arizona's law school.

Hummels was admitted to the Arizona bar in 2005.
