It's statutory rape, which means it was actually consensual. I really wish they would use a different term than rape because it's not ****ing rape.

So, there's a HUGE difference between a girl who consented to sex with someone and got pregnant and him wanting visitation rights, and someone who was actually raped and her rapist wanting visitation rights. The latter would be abhorrent. The former, not so much.

Two people having consensual sex and having a child should not result in the father being denied the right to see his child or the child denied the right to know his/her father. Punishing the child for the crimes of the father is a BAD idea. Had this been a violent rape, I'd have a different opinion (one that included pliers, fire ants, rubbing alcohol and being staked out in the desert with your eyelids cut off), but this was consensual and the child should know his/her father. There have been millions (billions??) of children in this world born into the exact same situation and they have known and loved and been loved by thier fathers.
