Default Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn signs death penalty repeal

Luss not just worry about innocent victims of capital punishment. How about all the other innocent victims who must surely be in jail? You can avoid punishing ANY innocent victims of laws, lawyers and judges by doing away with law, period. And look at all the money saved on jails, jailers, sheriffs, police, judges, lawyers, on and on.

I'm much more concerned about society being victimized, again and again, by Willie Horton types. You can persuade me that we don't need the death penalty by arranging things in such a way that convicted capital criminals never get out of the penitentiary. No time off for good behavior. No experiments with halfway houses. No letting him off because he's 112 and no longer a threat to anybody. No releasing him because he's dying of cancer. FOREVER. When he finally does die, cremate his arse and bury the ashes on penitentiary grounds.

Murder Victims Families don't matter to Democrats. Yo.

Among the harshest critics are prosecutors. In a statement DuPage County state's attorney Robert Berlin said, "today is a victory for murderers across Illinois. Violent offenders can now murder police officers, kill victims during forcible felonies, kill multiple victims, and kill witnesses without fear of receiving the death penalty."

Oh I see, because Democrats don't like the death penalty, they must hate murder victims' families. There really is no logical way to connect those two points beyond partisan hackery, so try making sense next time.

Yo.

Capital punishment, has never been shown to stop someone from doing those things in the first place.

Most bogus argument ever put up. Not one single murderer who received the capital punishment returned the questionaire.

Aren't people that kill innocent people supposed to be in jail?

You need to read my statement again.

That's not what I said.

Sure, killing someone will stop them from killing again.

So will separate confinement for the rest of their lives.

However, the thought that "this state has capital punishment" has never been shown to be a deterrent to a person wanting to kill another.

I read it perfectly fine. How can you say it is not a deterrent if the person you say it was suppose to deter is dead? Also lifelong confinement is a death sentence.
