Thanks for the tips-will do

You are correct in both instances. The money interests want to scare people from repealing it.

Maybe folks will recall how Prohibition took all the controls from alcohol and rendered authorities unable to regulate quality, collect taxes, etc.The criminals made all the money.

The criminal world that sprang up to meet the desire for etoh was as bad as the criminal world regarding drugs is now. Law enforcement didn't work until the repeal of Prohibition, just as the War on Drugs is not working now. Pot is pouring over the border and we can't stop it-or even make a dent. And thanks to the corrupt cops, pot is available in every prison. Or any other drug inmates want.

Also, if people were allowed to grow their own, the price would fall to that of any other produce!

It will cost much less than running the war on drugs to use treatment for the heavy drugs. This Drug War has hawks (Law enforcement) and doves (education research and treatment sales). Because pot is illegal, hemp is illegal and that will be the money-making crop. Because the illegal drugs are illegal, very little research is being done- and what has been done has been repeatedly rejected, just like McCain and DADT military studies.

I don't believe we need go that far. Otherwise we would have a bad situation, which we already have..

Imagine your small town now having more users and by users I mean a more drug addicts, who feed their need by selling to others.

You haven't considered how and whom would supply or any controls. But with weed we have discussed and know this could be done if strong mesures were in place, to keep the fools in line.

And pot is a very big part of the War on Drugs and would put a big dent right after set up and sold from state enpowerment, with cheaper and decent pot.

Each person could have if registered in their state a drug stamp (which KS. has, but you need to bring in the pot with you and then your arrested for possession. I know as we have had several people try, always one in every crowd)

But based on what ever counts each could get a week or months supply without breaking the law.

A married couple or live in would be counted as 2 people and get twice the 1 person amount. Hey it's my
dream
.. Worth getting married again..

And taxes are collected and it still is cheaper and safer than the way it is today.

People would go out of business who sell the stuff. The price would reduce to 2% of what it is today. And that study was heralded by WF Buckley!
But don't let a bit of truth dissuade you from what you choose to believe...

Saltwn: I Think you are right on both counts. But, maybe you knew that one of the arguments against ending alcohol prohibition was that everyone would get drunk all the time. As we know, it didn't happen. The average drinkers were fine, the addicts weren't-which was true during prohibition, when it was exciting to go to a speakeasy and a lot of people tried it for the thrill factor.

Prohibition of alcohol meant uncontrolled use, no rules, no taxes, were posible under those conditions--and no quality control either. There was always some killer hootch around. And there were a lot of cops, and others, on thetake, just like cannabis today.
Exactly, my friend. When prohibition was law alcoholics often over indulged to the point of death cause they didn't know when their next drink would come along.

Pot is produce. It's a weed. The price will plummet, I agree. Growers' produce will be like vineyards, some will be like Gallo. Some will be be much finer.

It would if they were serious about it. The fact that we aren't willing to do what is necessary is all it takes.

Some of the prison guards are on the wrong side of the bars. That would be a good place to start

anybody caught with illegal drugs dies, a few example killings and the drugs would eventually be gone.

Hang them in public. Nothing makes an activity not cool like a good hanging
