I contend that we have enough outlaw gangs and individuals of a young age, that are a menaces to their communities and because it is out of hand and in smaller cities our society.

To me real FACTS thump STUDIES... For the most part. Some studies do cross reference with other studies and known statics.

One night last winter a man (a stranger) spent the coldest night (I think it was minus 10) out on someone's door step, then later a charity tried to find him a shelter. I thought that was unusual since people don't just wander up here especially in the dead of winter!

Last night my neighbor called me to ask if I was still awake and to come over and watch the activity across the highway. We gathered in her yard with another neighbor who had already been outside awhile since they heard gun shots.
5 cars surrounded a double cab pick up. The coroner's car was present. A rather large man was removed from the back seat of the pick up and placed into a body bag.
So far there's been nothing on the news.

And like towns I lived in with smaller populations the News might not cover it till it becomes a police search for the shooter or shooters. And might involve drugs...

Which the state/local governement would like to keep quite about.

Again others want to start a thread before putting the story where it might help a thread already started, thus pushing the thread into obviation toward page 2 and deeper.

Kelson and Deborah Nyland were taken to a local hospital, where Kelson died early Sunday, police said.

At about 3:30 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies were sent to the Rancho Cucamonga home about a reported suicide. Deputies found Diez dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

Diez fathered the two children with Deborah Langstaff during a long-term relationship, but the couple had been estranged, Lake Havasu City police said.

The city of about 52,000 lies on the shores of a lake formed from a Colorado River dam built in 1938. It is perhaps best known as the home of the relocated London Bridge and as a spring break destination for college students.

Man do the crime and if caught do the time... Anyone thinking they can then kill any law enforcement officer and get away is plain stupid.. Save the state $ and kill this stupid fool.
Why risk anothe life and he will need to take food, water and something to ride in... So others are still in jeopardy..

After all he already has had his day in court IMHO.

Harris was tracking Curley, who was wanted for burglary, when he was ambushed Thursday and shot to death. Authorities say Curley shot at other police officers and missed before vanishing in the wilderness.

The U.S. Marshals Service offered a $10,000 reward Saturday for information leading to Curley's capture.

David Gonzales, U.S. marshal for Arizona, has said he believes somebody knows where Curley is hiding.

About 100 officers were in the field Sunday, and three helicopters were aiding in the search, according to a statement from Coconino County deputies.

Officers have found no food or water caches that could sustain Curley, but have seen his footprints around the area and are trying to track them, Pribil said.

According to testimony at his preliminary hearing, Reed and his brother had been drinking at a bar and went to Barnes' apartment, near Central and West Street, looking for drugs.

But no drugs were found in Barnes' apartment or on the Reeds.

A scuffle broke out inside the apartment and Barnes was shot once in the stomach.

The trial is scheduled for Judge Anthony Powell's courtroom.

Yea KS. is one state that has crime... Wish we were like the other 49 states who have none..

But sense I have so many on line papers I will have to check and see how well other states fair in the crime area cause not to many members care to share what they know in this thread.

WICHITA — A domestic dispute between two men in their south Wichita home early this morning escalated to the point that one stabbed his partner, who then stabbed the attacker in self-defense, police said.

The men were arguing shortly after 1 a.m. at their home in the 1800 block of South Mosley, police said. One of the men, 37, then stabbed the other, 32, in the side of his neck.

The victim then stabbed his attacker in the upper left torso, police said. Both men were taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis, where they underwent surgery.

Updated reports on their conditions are not available.

Lt. Darras Delamaide said he could not confirm reports that a third man later walked into St. Francis with injuries from the same fight.

Delamaide said he did not know the cause of the dispute that resulted in the stabbings.

A prosecutor says he won't seek the death penalty against a northeast Kansas farmer man accused in the death of a 58-year-old woman.

Roger Hollister of rural Sabetha pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a charge of capital murder after Atchison County District Judge Martin Asher bound him over for trial. The judge set the trial for Nov. 30.

Hollister, 58, is accused of killing Patricia Kimmi, who disappeared last Nov. 6 from her home in Horton. Kimmi's remains turned up in May on property in Nemaha County owned by Hollister's brother.

KNZA-FM reports Atchison County Attorney Gerald Kuckelman took the death penalty off the table at the request of Kimmi's family.

Hollister remains jailed. He's accused separately of trying to kill his own wife earlier this year by driving into the path of a tractor-trailer. She survived.

OAKLAND — A women was killed and at least one other man injured during an early morning shooting Saturday that came moments after they left a party hosted by an East Oakland motorcycle club, police said.

Latasha Carter, 30, was found by police on the 8500 block of International Boulevard at about 12:15 a.m. after a patrol officer was flagged down by people in the area. Once stopped, a patrol officer found Carter and a 19-year-old San Leandro man who was also injured in the shooting.

Police said Carter and the 19-year-old had just left a party on the 8800 block of Holly Street when someone drove alongside their car and began shooting. Both were hit and eventually flagged down a police officer several blocks away.

Carter, of Oakland, was taken to the hospital were she was pronounced. The 19-year-old, who police declined to identify, was treated for his injuries.

Homicide Sgt. Tony Jones said police still do not know the motive for the killing and have not made any arrests.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact either the department or Crime Stoppers of Oakland. Up to $15,000 in reward money is being offered to anyone who has information that leads to the arrest of the killer. The homicide is Oakland's 61st for the year. Last year at this time, Oakland had 75 homicides.

WALNUT CREEK -- An Oakland man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic violence after police say he tried to run over a woman near Broadway Plaza and then hid from authorities for more than two weeks.

Police were called about 10 p.m. Aug. 22 to the 1300 block of South Main Street where they found a woman with a broken nose and other injuries.

After she was treated at the hospital, the woman told investigators that she was traveling from San Ramon to Oakland with a man she was dating when he pushed her out of the car. He tried to hit her with his vehicle but she got out of the way, police said.

Detectives got an arrest warrant for Damon Thomas Sykes, 36, but could not find him until they got a tip Thursday that he was hiding in Oakland, police said. They found his vehicle and enlisted the help of Oakland police to watch it. Sykes was spotted returning to the vehicle about noon. He was arrested after a short chase, and booked into County Jail on $213,000 bail.

LIVERMORE - Police are investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 580 Saturday morning as a possible hit-and-run, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred around 9:20 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Highway 580 just west of Springtown Boulevard. A silver Honda Civic crashed into the center divider, killing one person in the vehicle and injuring a second person, the CHP said. The injured person was taken to a nearby hospital but no details were available on the severity of their injury.

Investigators are treating the accident as a possible hit-and-run.

One lane on westbound I-580 was closed as police continue their investigation. No estimate was availiable on when the roadway will be reopened.
