More moving out of Britain

Quote:
LONDON, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Almost 600 British citizens are emigrating every day, most of them seeking warm weather and a better life.

The Office of National Statistics said 207,000 Britons left the country last year, along with 193,000 foreign citizens who had been living in the country, The Independent reported. About 591,000 foreigners emigrated to Britain, for a net gain of 191,000 people.

The government said 100,000 people left Britain for a new job and 82,000 to look for work, with the rest retirees or people going abroad to study or to live with relatives.

Danny Sriskandarajah, the head of migration at the Institute for Public Policy Research, said people are more mobile than ever.

"More people are on the move than ever before, with (1) million emigrants and immigrants crossing our borders last year," he said. "This suggests the (United Kingdom) is seeing revolving turnstiles and not overrun floodgates."

The top destinations for emigrating Britons are Australia, Spain and France, followed by the United States and New Zealand.
And are they being replaced?...Yup...

Immigration

Quote:
Rising immigration is the main reason for Britain's increasing population.

Figures released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) in the UK show an increase of 185 000 in Britain's population due to immigration, for the year 2005. This is an increase of 500 people a day.

565 000 migrants arrived in the UK in 2005, intending to stay for at least a year. At the same time about 380 000 people left the UK to live abroad, over half of them British citizens.
Three generations from now, you're going to have more people bringing their own cultues and traditions to British society than people who maintain the local customs...

I've always said they would eventually lose their identity...It might be quicker than I thought...
