The groom planned to hold their wedding ceremony in his village on June 2, but they couldn't expect that the heavy rain would arrive on June 1.

According to the local customs, the groom went to the family of the bridge to bring her to his village at the early time of that day, but shortly after the road between the 2 villages had been flooded and they wouldn't have the chance to go back the groom's village.

The wedding ceremony must start at noon according to the local customs, so this couple decided to commence the ceremony in the 2nd floor of the bride's home and then gave a simple wedding feast in the 1st floor.

The makeup girls, the bridesmaids, and the ceramist all made their great efforts.

Since the road had been flooded, they climbed over the mountain to get to the village on time.

The groom said that his bride's his classmate in junior high school. "I liked her secretly when we're in grade 8. (Sorry, I forget the word which describes the things when a person like another person secretly) I told her I wanted to marry her in 2014, and she agreed."

I have seen so many locations look like this the past two years. I truly feel for each person who has to endure the mess mother nature spits out.

Only once when I was very young did our area become flooded like this. Weeks of labor to get back to normal.

And we were renting an old farm stead. Dad had old black and white pictures of it.

Liked her secretly is close enough. I can't think of another phrase.

If the marriage starts this way and survives the first day, I'd expect a long and fruitful life together.

Can I ask you Esmee why is it the developed pictures all have the Chinese symbols written across the picture? P.S. as usual your pictures are of great quality with quality subject matter, which is why I enjoy looking at each time you post some...

Yes, sure. The meaning of the 5 characters are "The Sky of Chu State City Newspaper" - Hubei Province where the story was happening was a state named Chu in such an ancient time. And I guess that the reason that they marked every picture with these characters is to claim that it's them that reported this piece of news at the first time. And it's the duty for anyone who are going to paste or quote these pictures on other sites to advertise this small local newspaper.
