Default World behind strategy to end Afghan war

I love this... Forget all the suffering many American families and troops have gone through, and commit them for more.

But focus on the Afghani's.

.World behind strategy to end Afghan war: Obama

AFP – 1 hr 13 mins ago. 20 may 2012.....

US President Barack Obama said Sunday at a NATO summit that the world was behind his strategy to end the war in Afghanistan but warned there would be days of hardship ahead.

Obama also said as he met Afghan President Hamid Karzai that the United States recognized the "hardship" Afghanistan had been through, adding its people "desperately want peace and security."

Gee like our troops, their familes and the rest of America doesn't want peace? You would think our President would at least mention this.

The US president said that the two-day summit in his adopted hometown would ratifty the broad consensus of American allies to achieve a complete transition to Afghan security control after more than a decade of war.

"What this NATO summit reflects is that the world is behind the strategy that we have laid out," he said.

"Now it is our task to implement it effectively and I believe that we can do so in part because of the tremendous strength and resilience of the Afghan people."

NATO is planning to cede to Afghan security forces the lead in operations against the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2013, before a complete departure of combat forces in 2014.

Obama said the summit was also devoted to framing a post-2014 vision, in line with a recently agreed strategic partnership agreement between Washington and Kabul.

"We recognize the hardship that the Afghan people have been through," Obama said.

"Both of us recognize that we still have a lot of work to do. The loss of life continues in Afghanistan. There will be hard days ahead, but we're confident that we're on the right track."

I'm sure life in a war torn country cannot be anything but a nightmare for soldiers and civilians alike.

Yes although it depends on what political point he was trying to make with his statement. The other leaders and citizens of the world can certainly see through a campaign speech and if he was afraid it would be construed that way I can see him focusing strictly on the country itself.

I can see your point. Besides he has tried hard to visit and talk about our troops a lot.

I watched him give the medal of Honor to the wife of a Nam Vet the other day. I had tears in my eyes before it was done.

Like I have said salty I don't dislike or hate Obama. But I do not trust any progressive policy. Which have turn the direction America has headed around 180 degrees.

That is it, nothing more. I do respect the man, his office. But not his policies or the promise to be more transparent, which has not happened.

His base are normal citizens but his big donaters and some friends are not cool before him and during his time in office. He is no longer the person he was before going into politics. And yes for most of our presidents it is that way but they never were from the streets like Obama was.
