Drop FARC terror label, urges Hugo Chavez
Quote:
"I am asking the governments (across Latin America) to take the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) and ELN (National Liberation Army) off their lists of global terrorist groups," Mr Chavez told the National Assembly today, saying he asked European nations to do the same.
"Because those lists exist for one reason alone - US pressure," Mr Chavez said in his address on the year 2007.
The leftist Colombian rebel groups "are not any terrorist body, they are real armies that occupy territory in Colombia; they must be recognised, they are insurgent forces that have a political project, a Bolivarian project, which here is respected," Mr Chavez said.

Proof that Mr. Chavez would align himself with FARC, a group who employs terrorist tactics to get their message across. Good luck explaining that one away Sir.

And the other thing that the public really does like is the self-examination to say, you know, I'm not perfect. I'm just like you. They don't ask their public officials to be perfect. They just ask them to be smart, truthful, honest, and show a modicum of good sense." Ann Richards, Former Texas Governor
