Default New air rifle acquisition

I'm stoked about my new air rifle acquisition- I think my OCD is surfacing.

I posted a few weeks (maybe couple of months?) ago about a new air rifle that I bought, but what I've really been wanting, and couldn't afford, was a German airgun, because their quality and reputation is unsurpassed. I used "the force" to find one.

It was one of those instinctive impulsive buys that paid off, or so it seems. Yesterday, I went to visit my parents for the day, and on the way back (it's a 120 mile round trip), I impulsively stopped into a pawn shop just to see if they had any air rifles. They didn't, but I asked the guy working there if the gun store next door sold air rifles. He told me they didn't, so I was a little disheartened.

Anyway, I just decided what the heck, and went into the gun store anyway, and asked one of the guys working there if they sell air rifles. He said "No, but we have one in the back room". The back room is a consignment room where their customers can sell their guns and the store gets a commission. Anyway, I asked what brand the air rifle was, and he replied "I can't pronounce it" and laughed. Bingo- good possibility that it's German.
He took me back there and I spotted it pretty quickly. It's a Feinwerkbau Sport 124- one of the most sought-after airguns in the industry. It's probably early 80's, made in Germany and imported by Beeman. It has a Beeman Blue Ribbon scope on it, and the gun looks like it was handled with care and valued by its previous owner. I really agonized just a little over whether or not to buy it, because I'm aware of the RWS name, but wasn't familiar with this brand. Turned out to very likely be a great gun, and I can't wait to get started shooting it. Woohoo!

I wouldn't know one if it bit me, but obviously you know your stuff.

Have fun with it!

Well, I don't really know my stuff, but I recognize German names, and I know that the German air rifles have the best rep in the business. It was just a lucky fluke that I came across one that has an excellent reputation and that I could afford to buy it. (and already being scoped and broken-in is a definite plus).

My next gun will be a black powder flintlock..............

New Land Pattern musket in the Light Infantry pattern. The browning and bluing of the 39 inch (.75 calibre) barrel became standard with this model, which is made of tempered seamless modern carbon steel (type:BS970 no.080M40) with a threaded breech plug. The overall length of the musket is 55 inches.

Is there anything more erotic than a politically engaged woman with a gun?

It probably depends on where she's pointing it.
