The history blended with the murder must be a quality mess.

I read several books at at time so the murder is also Blended with religion, biography's,novels, classics, poetry and the occasional fantasy or sci-fi. It helps break up the piling bodies. lol

Rest You Merry by Charlotte Macleod

For years, Professor Peter Shandy has been badgered by Jemima Ames, Assistant Librarian and Annual Chairperson, to decorate his campus home for the Grand Illumination which is Balaclava Agricultural College's main fund-raising event. Now he can hold out no longer.

Goaded to madness, he buries his small brick house under an avalanche of plastic reindeer, flashing lights, and fake Santa Clauses. Hooks up an amplifier blaring "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth," locks the switches at "on", and escapes to sea on a tramp steamer.

Shipwrecked and conscience-stricken, he crawls back to face his irate colleagues, and finds Jemima Ames dead on his living room floor. Police and security guards say it's an accident; Shandy says it's murder. President Thorkjeld Svenson says he'd better find out the truth without wrecking the Illumination... or the next corpse will be Shandy's.

Conservatives Without Conscience by John W. Dean

Dean's excellent 2007 analysis of American conservatism, and his prediction that it will become more fundamentally authoritarian and a danger to democracy.

A decade later and Dean's fears have become reality.

If one takes notice about everything is becoming a way toward our destruction.

As times goes on say from 1960 to now! Look at every 5 years and one can see how warped our as well as most of the worlds society has slowly become worst in so many aspects.

If one goes back a lot further it is very easy to see the changes and the depth where it has become worst.

So Dean could not miss.... As he belongs to several "think tanks" who are aware of this.

Heck I have been saying the same thing for a long time too.

Teresa of Avila: The Progress of a Soul
by Cathleen Medwick

A refreshingly modern reconsideration of Saint Teresa (1515-1582), one of the greatest mystics and reformers to emerge within the sixteenth-century Catholic Church, whose writings are a keystone of modern mystical thought.

Murder at Monticello (Mrs. Murphy #3)
by Rita Mae Brown, Sneaky Pie Brown, Wendy Wray (Illustrator)

Mrs. Murphy digs into Virginia history and gets her paws on a killer.

The most popular citizen of Virginia has been dead for nearly 170 years. That hasn't stopped the good people of tiny Crozet, Virginia, from taking pride in every aspect of Thomas Jefferson's life. But when an archaeological dig of the slave quarters at Jefferson's home, Monticello, uncovers a shocking secret, emotions in Crozet run high, dangerously high.

The stunning discovery at Monticello hints a hidden passions and age-old scandals. As postmistress Mary Minor "Harry" Haristeen and some of Crozet's Very Best People try to learn the identity of a centuries-old skeleton and the reason behind the murder Harry's tiger cat, Mrs. Murphy, and her canine and feline friends attempt to sniff out a modern-day killer. Mrs. Murphy and corgi Tee Tucker will stick their paws into the darker mysteries of human nature to solve murders old and new before curiosity can kill the cat and Harry Haristeen.
