Well, I can fathom a lot of it and I certainly don't hate it - and I can also see how folks could read it and come away with different interpretations on how it applies to the present. An example - some folks argue that the 2nd Amendment was written so that the citizens have the means to resist a tyrannical Guv'mint - they think the citizens should have access to tanks, missiles, and nukes - without any regard as to what the Founders would think about it if they had been able to foresee the advances in military technology.
