But it does go to show that there was no need for the country to be so unprepared for this.

(however.... i wouldn't put it pass certain parts of gov't to do something like this on purpose. I don't see any evidence that that's the what happen here.)

I'm not saying it is, but I wouldn't be wholly surprised if certain groups felt the 'collateral damage' was worth bringing the masses under the benevolent thumb of the government.
