The medals were going to be given to them NOT by the "Navy" as a national military installation, but from the Navy's Regional Legal Service Office in San Diego..In other words, THEMSELVES (The prosecutors were working out of that office)…
you are correct; i mistakenly thought they were the witnesses, however wtf?
This would be like the regional court system giving Marcia Clark a medal after failing to convict OJ...Just pain stupid…
popycock. they did their duty. the reason the man was convicted of a lesser crime is because there is now no body.
And OF COURSE the media (and blind followers like salty) are going to be upset over this because the prosecutors were going after someone Trump supported, so the prosecutors MUST be angels sent from above...
no. salty is not upset because of that; salty was surprised that the potus would even dip into an internal military case at all but this is him taking back a medal that the united states navy deemed appropriate for these soldiers.
legally trump can do that but like the big baby in the candy store sometimes its bad to dip into each and every government agency or organization just for campaign pizzaz.
and it doesnt matter what you or I think about the giving of the medal. it may be one given routinely for prosecuting a set number of cases or some reason we will never know. its not ours to judge and except in some fantastical circumstance the president should not judge what was already judged.
you don't take medals away from service members you dont like or that do their job. this was their job.
why do you take up for this azz ole' and always seek excuses for him?

Um the NAVY, Army, Airforce etc all have lawyers and prosecutors in uniform.... serving the country.

The "NAVY" Regional Legal Service Office is not "the NAVY"?
I'm Not sure how that works cnredd.
They received "Navy Achievement Medals"
It is the Navy. If it was civilian then the Trump would have ZERO authority to recommend removal of the medals.

And Medals are often recommended and granted by people in the the same units/areas... becasue they are the one's who see what the people did that was meritorious.

Like OJ?
So you're saying the Navy Seal was actually GUILTY, and the Prosecutor did a poor job in not getting convictions? So they don't deserve medals.
Or are you Saying that Navy Seal was INNOCENT and the Prosecutor did a poor job becasue he could not convict an innocent man?
So they don't deserve medals.

I'm not sure which way you're leaning here.

I can't speak for Redd here, but I would like to address the question you posed.

While I have not really studied this case at all and have only read some of the articles about it, it is my understanding that the prosecution ignored evidence that would have lead to dropping prosecution of this case. If that is the case, then I would submit that these prosecutors should NOT be rewarded with medals and should be investigated for bias.

But again, I have not really dug into this case much outside of media reporting.
