They've also been pawns of the U.S. imperial power struggles who we've left in the lurch on several previous occasions.
We Supported Saddam when he was killing Kurds in Iraq,
After the 1st Iraq war we left them to deal with Saddam again.
the U.S. gov't has off and on supported the Turks and other Groups that do not have the Kurds welfare in mind.

The question isn't whether or not the Kurds are worthy of our support. They are. The question is whether or not we have the right to give it?
Do we send troops and arms in to crave out a new nation for them between Iraq, Turkey and Syria? that's what they really need. Outside of that are still in the weeds. And long have been between many rocks and hard places. Giving them arms/supplies to defend themselves and poltica support is probably the most we can LEGALLY and Constitutionally DO. Unless we want to nation build... which is NOT our Job. And if so whose next? Yeman, is being beaten to crap by Sadui Arbia with our help? where's our moral U.S. military actions there. What about North Korea, the south Koreans have been great allies far longer than the kurds shouldn't we just clean up that northern mess?

No. we are not the worlds police or mr. fix it. we don't even know HOW.
Iraq is STILL a mess. Libya's a mess, Afghanistan is a mess, etc etc..
Nope. arms, supplies and advice, IF we can do it legally. nNot by pretending we can go into any country unannounced and do whatever the H377 we want just because we're AMERICA.
We wouldn't stand for it if other nations did it to us here, or if some other nations did it others.

(though i'm not against certain kinds of covert back door NON-Military assistance)

Dude you gotta chill out. Captain American aint perfect, but he's the best we've got. Would you rather have Putin and his Mafia state playing world police? or China?

And they are biting at our heels to do it, and every move tRUmp does makes it easier for them.

Careful what you wish for Mr. Wonder, if tRUmp and the rest of the fascists get their way you might be wishing we were back with the imperfect Obama Admin.

Not looking for perfection, just a bit more moral and constitutional consistency. And a lot less FAUX policing. (ZERO) Putting on the pretended moral face while our military are really sent overseas to secure resources for the US economy and western oligarchs pockets.

seems to me Putin was invited into Syria? Did we get an Invitation?
Did we get an invitation form Libya, Or Iraq? or the dozen plus countries we've been drone striking?
And please show me how many countries Chinia's army is policing right now? how many countries it's drone striking? or attacking for the "the good of" the so-called "oppressed people"?

Trump is threatening Venezuela over it's oil, and has been flip-flopping on Syria since the campaign. But his current Neo-Con advisors want what you and Hillary want. For the U.S to "police the world" ....which translate to... secure resources and control for the US. and Euro oligarchs. they don't care if dictators rule or the Kurds are wiped out, as long as they keep their nations resources under the dominance of the west and not Russia or China.

Obama did the the same just a softer sell and slightly different tactics,(drone struck many innocents into the next life) Hillary was on board with the same type of Neo-lib "police the world" programs.

Left mafia or Right mafia is what you're asking me to choose from.
Are both better than Putin Russian mafia or China's oppressive Party State. in many respects yes, in some respects not so much.
My question is CAN WE BE BETTER? MORE like what we the face we put on.
I think so, the political establishment like Hillary and the Neo-con influenced Trump are Not our only alternatives RED.
