OK, I've read Salty's post. Wally's post, Slothy's post, Shiva's post. Lots of opinions. Nothing to back the opinions. No link per Salty.

Shiva says troops in Tuscan. Salty says article says laying concertina along the border at ports of entry according to the non posted article. Are these ports in Tuscon?

Wally says political stunt.

Slothy props for mid terms.

Salty says National Guard would have done it better and cheaper.

One thing sure, it's President Trump's fault.

Anybody actually know something?

Here they were never "troops at the border" so even that was political BS.
From the OP...

The returning service members include engineering and logistics units whose jobs included placing concertina wire and other barriers to limit access to ports of entry at the U.S.-Mexico border.
So there were no troops at the border because they were putting up concertina wire and other barriers 90 miles from the border...

Yeah...OK....

That it was a waste of our money and a political stunt designed to galvanize Trump's base for the midterms.

I think it's pretty clear. And considering he ordered it, yes it is his fault.

The Pentagon could begin drawing down its troop levels at the border as early as next week, Army Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan, who oversees the mission on the southern border, told Politico.
