Default The Revolution :American Crisis

Youtube has some Hist Channel series offered free of the usual 1.99 per full length videos. This segment is 45 min long and just before the battle of Trenton there were a few places I teared up.

Great find salty. And some good news to boot. Now to find the time to watch it all.

We have been watching a couple a night with dinner or before we go to bed. Pretty exciting stuff.

I would bet your right. Just where are they as I didn't see any links or did I miss them. You know we don't remember all that much.

And I would love to view a few of them.

I was watching the first one and realized this is the 3rd time I saw this.

As I did watch it on both of the History Channels last year. And just maybe in 2010 so it might be the 4th time I am going to view it.

I find that each time I catch something I misssed before, going upstairs for snacks or coffee.

When the first one is over I will get to this one and then the rest as these show not just the battles but what life was like back then, and includes many historical facts.

I never knew that war was so long-or sloppy.

Well consider that was our first one, besides the war with the French & Indians.

Which was fought by large by the Brits using the different militias. And in the end the cause of the Revolution, because King George wanted some of the expense back in the way of taxes.

And by then our fore fathers were united (the Free Masons) which had excited many. Which isn't that well known. But nearly every town had a lodge. Plus many were already talking about freedoms.

And there were others with thoughts of enlightenment, which was spreading thur Europe and into America. Which is known.

Yet it was a long war as back then battles were fought during the spring and summers. Then each side was suppose to rest up during the winter. But our Army didn't play by each rule of war.

1. we had sharp shooters who went for the officers, a rule of war in Europe.

2. we had bands of men like the Green Rangers (I forgot the name used) who fought like todays insergents, ambushes.
Then go forward and do it over and over. As the Brits would close ranks and march.
3, the Brits just didn't think they could be beat and sent re-enforcements each year and some of their top Generals were not that bright once they held a town, had a woman and like Cornwallis, backed into a old fort with no way out but by sea.
Kept asking for help and was told it was coming. Yet it never laft and by then the French ships and men had arrived.

cornwallis was defeated at yorktown because - Google Search

Actually coincidence and the stick to-it-ivness of our troops and generals combined to pull of something miraculous.
