I would say 99 percent of gang members are of the CRIP variety (cowards run in packs). Military training or not, anybody with a gang mentality possesses just enough brain power to allow him to wipe himself almost half clean. That, plus the lack of conscience supplemented with an overwhelming desire to kiss his gang leader's butt, even to the point of killing a relative or best friend, makes him stupidly dangerous.

If you watch "GANGLAND" they have just one on gangs & the military. And it is as scary because even in combat there are several of the largter gangs from America. Bases every where have gang tags on the bases.

And so far this one Marine who was in a LA gang took out two police officers using tactics he learned in the Marines.

It was caught on video from a store he robbed and laid in wait for the cops to show up.
He died that night. But several blocks away... Which I think was his goal once he was surrounded.

Now he could have entered homes etc. But instead he took on more police officers.

Yea salty it is scary. But so is normal troops with several duty tours in combat.

I believe today Obama honored a vet who was killed in combat in his 14th tour.

I do know what PTSD does to fighters, and when they have 4 or more America just might pay the price in the near future, unless the Military and the VA get their acts together.

And yes any reimbursement comes out of entitlements.

Well military retirement and benifits are entitlements, mlurp whether you want to believe it or not. I am fighting to keep ss and vets affairs from being raided by butt heads. Just fired off a letter to all my reps and Leon P and Obama. Concerning discussion of cuts in vet retirement and Tricare. If I can find that military thread I started I'll post the news from military dot com or you can go there and read it.

Well enless they are doing more to ID these guys, the Military has no other plans except a manual the post commander has been issued.

Which relies on these solders to say they left the gangs. So to answer your well put question I would say nothing is being done that I know of...

Something tells me Obama is going to order the base commanders to hold sensitivity seminars on gang members in the Military, and how everybody needs to get along, and recognize the need of gang punks to decorate base buildings with their art work, hold dexterity training on gang finger signs, how to look upon a "known" gang type with respect instead of with a dissing look, memorize tattoos so as not to confuse certain gang affiliation with some other rival type, et cetera, blah blah blah...

Humm I see nothing of value in that plan. And Obama being a street coordinator
should know that this is BS.

After all we are sure he gets informed on this topic as well as others relating to it.
