The Great March
Today is a historic day in history. Today is the 24th anniversary of the Second National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, also known as The Great March.
On this day in 1987, approximately 200,000 gays and lesbians marched in DC. Two major factors that spurred the march was the AIDS epidemic in the 80s and the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Bowers vs Hardwick.
