Well Russia has a newer 5th generation fighter and I believe China has one to, yet that remains to be seen as yet by the public.

A picture of it is at the site. I think we have just around 23 of our FA Raptor. And the oders for the newer Joint Strike Fighter are under way. What I have heard is these types of fighter wouldn't be in the hands of Russia or China till around 2015 at the earliest.
I think we missed it by a few years. Lets hope we never use them against each other.

The T-50 did not leave the runway and was slowed by a brake parachute.

The twin-engined jet was traveling at 60 miles per hour (100 kph) when the pilot decided to abort takeoff because of a right engine malfunction, the RIA Novosti news agency reported, citing a representative of United Aircraft Building Corp., a state-controlled holding that incorporates top Russian aircraft-makers,

The T-50, which made its maiden flight in January 2010, had been kept out of the public eye before its debut at the air show on Wednesday during a visit by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

The fighter is intended to match the U.S. F-22 Raptor, which entered service in 2005.

The T-50 still lacks new engines and state-of-the art equipment, and its serial production is only expected to begin in 2015 at the most optimistic forecast. Two T-50s are currently undergoing tests, and another pair is expected to join them later this year.

Russia has signed deals with India to cooperate on the aircraft's development, and hopes that the Indian air force will become a major customer for the plane.

The six-day air show at the Zhukovsky air base outside of Moscow wrapped up on Sunday.

God I miss the Cold War.

Back then, the Rooskies would come out with a better tank and then we'd come out with a better anti-tank missile.

We'd come out with a better tank and the Rooskies would come out with a better anti-tank missile.

We'd come out with a stealthy fighter jet and the Rooskies would steal the info and make their own stealthy fighter jet.

Etc., etc....

America was working hard to protect against the Commie threat.

Casualties were virtually non-existent.

Other than the Cuban missile crisis and either the 1967 or 1973 Arab-Israeli war there was no real threat of nuclear annihilation - MAD was understood by both sides.

Other countries in the world were bankrolled by us or the Rooskies, and kept in line - things were much more stable back then.

Life was good.

Then Reagan had to go and screw it all up.

True peace with Russia doesn't change much except now the dangers are growing every day as the planet spins.

This panet will never see any real peace, till the last battle. And that might be a big ouch...
