Default Where Did All the Anti-War Protestors Go?

The anti-war movement was all over the news before President Obama was elected. But apparently they weren’t really anti-war ... they were just anti-President Bush. Two college professors just released a study of national protests between 2007 and 2009. What did they find?

… After January 2007, the attendance at antiwar rallies [measured in] roughly the tens of thousands, or thousands, through the end of 2008.

… After the election of Barack Obama as president, the order of magnitude of antiwar protests dropped [...] Organizers were hard pressed to stage a rally with participation in the thousands, or even in the hundreds. For example, we counted exactly 107 participants at a Chicago rally on October 7, 2009.

Amazing. Especially because the war in Afghanistan ramped up after Obama was elected. American fatalities shot up in 2009 and 2010.

The protesters have remained silent over Libya.

And I’m struck by the hypocrisy of the supposedly “anti-war” politicians who voted against Iraq, like Nancy Pelosi. Since Obama was elected, she has voted to continue the war in Afghanistan … and supported the attack on Libya.

Not surprising at all that the war protesters and the left leaning MSM have all but ignored this now that obama is in office. The problem they have though is that the American people are stupid and can see obama for what he is, and that my friends is why his approval rating is so low.

I'm still here, whadda wanna know?

I haven't gone anywhere.

I'm as against Obama's war effort, as I was against Bush's.

In fact, that's what turned me off of Obama.

I'm Prolife in all respects which make me ...

Anti-War
Anti-Abortion
Anti-Death Penalty
And Pro Gun Ownership (guns save lives in the right hands)

So depending on who's speaking I end up looking good to the left some days and the rights on others.

And i agree, it looks like, the Anti-War left has Mostly left the building.
Seems mostly it's the truly Ideological anti-war folks have held on. Cindy Sheehan is still loudly protesting the Wars but the "right wing media" or is it "left wing media" (Hard to tell some times) doesn't show her at Obama's vacation spots protesting. She lost a lot of politically well placed "friends" who she feels now just used her to get votes for Obama and demon-crats.

the republicans are the same though, just on different issues.
Remember Newt, contract with America...
what happened with that thing? Newt says he's sorry, just give um another chance...
Riiiiight, Newt sure I'll forgive ya but I won't trust you.
Fool me once ..and and ... you won't fool me agin.

Still looking for tea party republicans to repeal some of the intrusive Unconstitutional surveillance search and incarcerations laws.
Since they ONLY WANT THE CONSTITUTION!!! LIKE THE FOUNDERS INTENDED!!! AMEN! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
Seems they really only like a few of the amendments in the bill o rights to me though, others not so much...

I WONDER

This is my opinion about where the war protesters are...we are weary, worn out, ignored by MSM, exhausted from shouting and no one listening.

We are still writing our congresspeople, the White House, and talking about it amongst ourselves. Some are still writing LTTEs.

Do you find it odd that the MSM all of the sudden ignores you now that the president has a 'D' after his name?

I was against going into Iraq, still am.

I was for trying to go after Bin Laden.

I'm mixed about Afghanistan.

I am for the no-fly zone in Libya

It is far from sudden.

The MSM always ignored war protests...sometimes, if it was a big protest in DC or a big city, CSPAN would cover it, but there was very little more than a mention of marches that had 100,000 people or more. If President Bush was in a big city and there were protesters, they would be moved to "free speech zones" blocks away so they would be out of sight, out of mind as far as the media was concerned.

That is but one reason that liberals laugh out loud when someone mentions the "liberal media".
