This was sent to me in an email .... words are insufficient.

It is the story of a Hungarian Jewish woman who survived Auschwitz and found a coat belonging to a guard which she took to shield her from the cold immediately after her liberation. In the pocket of this coat she found a photo album. It contained pictures of what went on in this extermination camp.

Imagine her reaction when she saw a picture of herself coming off of the train as well pictures of her family who were already murdered. This album at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem was donated by this woman in 1980 and will forever be displayed there.

Thanks for the reminder of socialism's dark and bloody history. Actually Auschwitz, Dachau, Treblinka, Babi Yar, Mauthausen, Ravensbruck, and every other death camp was sponsored, promoted, and authorized by NATIONAL SOCIALISM ... perhaps you're too young or too ignorant to remember that 'NSDAP' is the short form expression for the 'Nazional Sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter partei', or 'National SOCIALIST German Workers Party' ... 'Nazi' was the acronym used when referencing the members of the party ... once again, you prove the shallowness of your 'education' ... pity ... this has virtually no meaning to you except 'curiosity' since you lack an appreciation of the historical context and causal factors which occasioned its occurrence ... Would you consider Democratic People's Republic of Korea to be "democratic"? I wouldn't. Party labels don't necessarily reflect reality - or the whole reality.

I understand the need for some to paint their ideological opponents in simplistic black and white terms, even if it means grossly distorting history in order to feel better, but in the end one thing stands: humans killed humans, for reasons that ultimately had little to do with political ideology and much more to do with the human need to scapegoat and dehumanize a despised subgroup. History reflects this over and over and over...USSR (treatment of ethnic minorities); modern Russia and former Eastern Block Countries (ethnic minorities now have their own country back and take it out on ethnic Russians); Congo, Rwanda, Kosovo (well, the Balkans in General)....Turkey/Armenia....

Once again, you prove beyond doubt that you willingly REFUSE to understand that SOCIALISM, and, in the example you cite, NATIONAL SOCIALISM, was RESPONSIBLE for over SIX MILLION deaths in the camps and probably more than THIRTY MILLION aggregate deaths as a result of its expansionist anti-human policies.

Your tawdry 'example' of 'modern Russia' is so pathetic it's beyond comment, yet I have to point out that the so-called 'collapse' of the Soviet Union was a brilliant piece of deception by the Kremlin, It enabled them to get rid of a lot of debt as well as rid the party of 'unreliable thinkers' while renovating their military and political machinery. It was the equivalent of discharging debts by declaring bankruptcy, and the Libs bought it. First thing they did was downsize our military and spend the non-existent 'peace dividend' on their "GIMME!' supporters.

One of the things that makes those photos so difficult to view is that they are of ordinary people....just like us. There is a photo that includes two little girls in what looks like fuzzy hats with little ears. It could be today. And somehow, I think when living memory dies and times get hard, people will forget this, or like the Holocast deniers, minimalize it. And it will happen in again.
