Without using Google or Wikipedia or any similar source, answer the following poll regarding our nation's most famous flag.
""The Star-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the United States of America. The lyrics come from "Defence of Fort McHenry",[1] a poem written in 1814 by the 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet, Francis Scott Key, after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by the British Royal Navy ships in Chesapeake Bay during the Battle of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812." (Source = Wikipedia) So who actually created the flag that inspired our national anthem?

You got an answer out before I had a chance to add the poll! Keep in mind though, that this question is about the flag itself, and not the song.

side note (and I didn't know specifically who made it)...
There were two flags there actually...one smll one for the fort itself, and a HUUUUGE one that was displayed as a "stick-in-the-eye" to the attacking fleet...sort of a "We're still here, a-holes!" type of thing. Since Key was actually on a British ship when he wrote the SSB, it was the HUUUUGE one that he wrote of... ![]()

The correct answer is Mary Pickersgill. Contrary to what many of us were taught in school, it was not Betsy Ross.
