And thats why I am still doing these threads. I did get burned out for a while. And what most don't understand is plenty of this group of people as you call them do support yet don't fight.

And I do cover all of the regions you mentioned, check the International Topic Area.

Just like when it comes to Israel. Terror is now a way of life, period for the West and the one other nation I mentioned.

With this fact America is in for a long run of more rights lost, and much more in spending in certain areas of each of each of our military...

We bit off more than we can chew at this time in our History. But thats one mans opinion, as time will tell on this to. And I blame Bush Jr for it all.

BTW my step mother is German, living there now. When we talk I get more insight on this very topic we are now ingaged with.

Cause she worrys about the 2nd generation of Arabs/Muslims who can't find work and want about everything from the state. They have held riots & protests.

And many in Germany want them to leave. Kind of like the Chick-A-Fil in a bigger way.
Note I said kind of... Not meaning anyone is saying to either side of that coin to leave as far as I know.

So things are changing in Germany as a direct result of what I have said above.

I am sorry but I can't get back for the title or much else. My PC is acting up.

Quote:

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The Afghan parliament voted Saturday to dismiss the country's defense and interior ministers, a move that threatens to throw the country's security apparatus into confusion as foreign forces withdraw.

The vote demanded the dismissal of two of President Hamid Karzai's key security lieutenants: Defense Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak, one of the top Afghan officials most trusted by Washington, and Interior Minister Bismullah Khan Mohammadi.

The votes of no confidence come at a critical time in the war, when Afghan police and soldiers are increasingly taking over responsibility from departing international troops, who are scheduled to leave Afghanistan or move into support roles by the end of 2014.

Separately, the U.S.-led coalition said two NATO service members were killed Saturday in an insurgent attack in eastern Afghanistan. No other information was released. So far this year, 268 U.S. and NATO troops have died in the war.

Legislators faulted the defense and interior ministers for what they view as the government's weak response to cross-border attacks that Afghans blame on the Pakistani military, with lawmakers asking why Afghanistan has not launched a military response. The parliamentarians also asked the ministers about allegations of corruption within their ministries and alleged security lapses that led to recent assassinations of top officials.

The parliament then passed a measure to remove Wardak by a vote of 146 to 72. A separate vote of no confidence on Mohammadi passed 126 to 90. Both measures needed 124 votes to pass.

"Both ministers are disqualified from their positions and we request His Excellency President Karzai to introduce new ministers for these positions as soon as possible," Abdul Raouf Abrahimi, speaker of the lower house of parliament, said after the vote.

It is unclear if the two will immediately leave their posts. Parliament occasionally flexes its muscle to thwart Karzai's policies or appointments, but the constitution places most power in the president's hands.

Karzai's office issued a three-sentence statement acknowledging that Article 92 of the Afghan constitution gives the parliament the authority to disqualify ministers. Karzai's statement did not express any support or regret for the no confidence votes, saying only that the president would "make decisions about the disqualified ministers" after he meets with his national security team on Sunday.

In past no-confidence votes, Karzai has simply kept other ministers in their jobs in an acting capacity and dragged out the process of nominating replacements.

The U.S. Embassy in Kabul declined to comment on the parliament's action, referring questions to the Afghan government.

Among the criticisms of the two ministers was the government's tepid response to allegations that the Pakistani military launched hundreds of shells and rockets into the eastern Afghan provinces of Nuristan and Kunar last month, sometimes hitting homes and killing civilians along frontier areas where insurgents have staged cross-border attacks.

..Video: Taliban Welcomes Rogue Afghan Who Shot US Soldiers as a Hero

By MUHAMMAD LILA and ALEEM AGHA | ABC News – 6 hrs ago.. .

A new online video shows a rogue Afghan soldier receiving a hero's welcome from Taliban commanders, after returning from a mission where he killed an American soldier in cold blood.

The video, released by the Taliban's media propaganda wing, shows the soldier returning to a Taliban village in Ghaziabad in Kunar province, with dozens of Taliban men lined up to greet him. The soldier, wearing an Afghan Army uniform, identifies himself as Ghazi Mahmood, or "Warrior Mahmood."

Men with white Taliban flags, some with their faces covered, others carrying rocket propelled grenade launchers, throng around him, parading him through the village as insurgents shower him with flower garlands and chant "Long Live Mahmood."

"I opened fire on three Americans who were sitting together," the man explains calmly in the video. "The reason I killed them is because they have occupied our country. They are enemies of our religion and they kill our innocent people."

In another scene, the rogue soldier is seated outside a wooden structure, surrounded by armed insurgents, some of whose faces are blurred. Standing in a row in front are dozens of young madrassa students, who pump their fists into the air cheering "Jihad, Jihad" and "Long Live the warrior."

The video offers rare glimpse into the world of Afghan Taliban-style chivalry, where those who kill Americans often receive fame, family honor, and in some cases, money from insurgent commanders to support their families

I came across this as I was going thru several online news papers. Which shows people in America do know more than I thought.

As my local news doesn't mention much unless a soldier from FT. Rily is involved.

Bomb hits civilian bus, kills nine Afghans

Big News Network.comTuesday 7th August, 2012, Posted on the 8th.

KABUL - At least nine people were killed near the Afghan capital Tuesday in two separate bomb attacks - one targeting a NATO military base and the other hitting a civilian bus, officials said, blaming the Taliban for the bombings and escalated violence in the war torn country.

Police said a remote-controlled bomb struck a minibus travelling northwest of Kabul Tuesday morning in Paghman district, killing at least nine passengers, Kabul police chief General Ayoub Salangi

Interior ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said the militant who planted the device was spotted running away from the scene and has been arrested after local villagers gave him a chase.

"The local people arrested the mine planter and have badly beaten him. People caught him while he still had the remote detonator in his hand," Sediqqi said.

Police speculated that the bomber might have tried to target a bus full of government workers but blew up a civilian bus by mistake.

The bomb was placed under a bridge and detonated when the bus drove over it, criminal director for Kabul police Mohammad Zahir said.

No group claimed responsibility, but district police chief Col Amrullah blamed insurgents affiliated with the Taliban who often plant roadside bombs.

"It was planted by the enemy of the country," Amrullah said.

A second bomb exploded at a NATO military base south of the Afghan capital, wounding at least 20 civilians.

A spokesman for Nato's International Security Assistance Force confirmed the "explosion at an Isaf facility in Logar province".

Provincial police chief Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai said a truck loaded with explosives was detonated at the coalition forces' camp in provincial capital Pule Alam city.

"We have information that 20 civilians have been injured," Lewanai said. The injured included three soldiers and 17 civilians.

Most of the injured civilians worked at the base.

Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack that occurred 70 kilometers south of Kabul.

"One of our mujahideen carried out a suicide truck bomb attack on a big US forces' camp resulting in many deaths and injuries," Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid said in a text message to the media.

Also Tuesday, the NATO-led international military coalition said one of its service members died after an insurgent attack in eastern Afghanistan early morning.

It gave no further details because NATO policy is not to identify the dead until family members have been notified.

NATO's International Security Assistance Force, which has 130,000 US-led troops in Afghanistan, has noted a spike in attacks countrywide in recent months, since the start of the insurgents' annual summer offensive.

The step up in attacks is happening even as foreign troops are preparing to hand full responsibility for security to Afghan forces by the end of 2014.

A good question FS.

If I find one I post it FS. And yes if you look hard enough there has been a few. Not many as it is a war zone, but there have been a few with positive news.

Anything else you might want to know concerning this thread, I would like to help you or any member understand.

But one has to understand I can only post what I do find, right?

And all the ugly news did get me to stop posting for a while.. But the readers haven't dropped off so?

It is simple when I find a story in any cities news that in itself to me is a positive as it shows the average American (to me anyway) cares.

And to the readers some whom might have friends/family over there, how much more positive can it be to know this.
Sense everything else is either from over there by e-mails and letters or places like PW and the news, (with a member who does care to have spent so much time doing this.)
