Default Interesting mask discussion with my doctor

I had a doctors appointment a couple of days ago. I went into the office, checked in and reluctantly wore a mask out of respect for the wishes of the doctor I was seeing. He is not the doctor I normally see as my doctor was out of the office (probably taking a few days off as his wife is suffering from dementia).

Anyway, as I was waiting to be see, I noticed a sign up in the waiting room. It was in relation to Covid and what people should or should not do.

It had the usual suggestions, wear a mask, wash your hands, stay 6 feet apart, blah, blah, blah.

But then I noticed that it had a section of don'ts. The first one was "Don't wear medical grade masks", or something to that effect. I don't remember exactly what it said, but the point was not to wear masks made for medical workers. (BTW, These were based on CDC guidelines)

This got me thinking, WHY? Is my life not as important as someone working in the medical profession? What is the difference between medical grade masks and those that they want us to wear? So when I saw the doctor, I asked him.

The doctor's response was that medical grade masks do a better job of filtering for infections diseases than those over the counter masks do, or again something to that effect. I didn't record him so I cannot tell you verbatim his exact words.

I then asked him these questions, if my mask isn't enough to protect those in the medical field, why do I have to wear it? What is it really doing? Is it just for show? I asked the doctor these questions and he really didn't have a good answer. He hemmed and hawed about infection rates and virus parts per million and other virus facts, but could never really answer my question.

So from all of this, it just confirms what I have been saying since day one. That homemade mask or the paper mask you buy at WalMart is doing NOTHING to prevent the spread of Covid. You are being fed a lie. It is nothing but a reaction by elected officials to convince you that they are doing something about a virus that they really have NO control over.

All we can do is be smart about how we go about our lives. If you are sick, have symptoms (coughing, sneezing, fever, sore throat) STAY HOME. If you notice someone with these symptoms, stay away from them. Other than that, go about your lives and try to live a healthy lifestyle. Take high doses of Vitamins C and D and trying to include a zinc based supplement. (From what I have read, the zinc apparently helps your bodies cells from allowing the virus molecule to attach itself).

The reason that public health experts have recommended that the general public not wear medical grade masks is because, notwithstanding 10 months of this shlt, we can't produce enough medical grade masks for front-line first responders and medical professionals. The real question you should be asking is why Trump screwed around for two months at the start of this emergency instead of putting the weight of the federal government behind large-scale ramp ups in PPE production and testing capability.

Again, if my mask is good enough for the general public, why isn't acceptable for those in the medical profession?

The point is that it is all a show. The masks they are trying to make the general public wear, do NOTHING for the wearer or those around the wearer IF the person in the mask is asymptomatic. Hell, they can't even detect Covid without shoving a Q-Tip up your nose until they almost hit your brain (which in your case might prove almost impossible).

And the real problem is that during the last major health crisis during the Obama administration, the available PPE was used and NEVER REPLACED by the Fed Gov't being run my Obama. Therefore, when this one hit, the cupboards were bare. It took a while to ramp up production to the point where those supplies could be replenished. You can't just snap your finger and make it happen overnight. But hey, Orange Man Bad regardless of the facts.

For a supposed lawyer, you really don't have much grasp on facts.

Individuals didn't lose the election. A representative of individuals did. Each individual still have a voice. Unless you will try and deny that also.

I'm not sure who you think you are addressing, but I have not lost an election as I was not on a ballot.

But I really need to evaluate posts that I respond too. You appear to be nothing but a butthurt, little minded troll that gets his jollies by trying to get others outraged. Nice try, but I don't allow small minded idiots to do that too me.

Have a nice day Troll!

a social media post a while back suggested if i don't think the mask works then tell my doctor not to wear a mask for my next surgery.
my response was if my doctor walked in wearing a homemade cloth mask like most folks i would run out of there and find a doctor who wasn't a moron.
the masks the general public is asked to wear is to make stupid people feel safe.
