Hundreds of transgender youths want to transition back, says trans rights champion

Hundreds of transgender youths who had gender reassignment surgery wish they hadn't and want to transition back, says trans rights champion

Charlie Evans, 28, from Newcastle, is helping transgender people with doubts
Says many people find transitioning genders does not help gender dysphoria
'Hundreds' have contacted her after she stopped taking testosterone this year

'Hundreds' of transgender people who have transitioned want to un-do their surgery, a campaigner who decided to stop identifying as male has revealed.
Charlie Evans, 28, from Newcastle, was born female but identified as male for almost ten years before deciding to stop taking testosterone and become a woman again.
'Hundreds' of people have contacted her, including 30 in Newcastle alone, asking for guidance around detransitioning - the process of becoming the gender they were born - after she went public with her decision last year, she told Sky News.
I'm in communication with 19 and 20-year-olds who have had full gender reassignment surgery who wish they hadn't, and their dysphoria hasn't been relieved, they don't feel better for it,' Ms Evans said.
The people who get in contact with her are usually in their 20s, 'mostly same-sex attracted' and often autistic, she added.

One 21-year-old woman, who identified as male from the age of 13, reached out to Ms Evans because transitioning did not help her gender dysphoria.
The woman, who did not want to be identified, said: 'There is a system of saying, "okay here's your hormones, here's your surgery, off you go". I don't think that's helpful for anyone'.
Ms Evans is now setting up The Detransition Advocacy Network to help people who feel the same way she did.

She was due to have her breast removal surgery this summer but started having doubts in May before deciding to stop taking hormones and cancel the procedure.
The science journalist has previously tweeted: 'We know that there is no such thing as a boy brain or a girl brain or that you can be born with the wrong one.
'We know hormone blockers are unsafe because we need testosterone and oestrogen for development.
'We need to #BeBrave, and stand together.'

Data is not currently collected showing how many transgender people come to regret their decision but the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust - which offers gender identity services for children as young as three - says it is 'rarely seen'.
In a statement, a trust spokesperson said: 'Decisions about physical interventions made in our care are arrived at after a thorough exploration process.
'While some of our patients may decide not to pursue physical treatment or drop out of treatment, the experience of regret described here is rarely seen.'

A lot of things are "rarely seen"... if you're not looking for it.
And no one's looking for this, that's for sure. Since these kids supposedly "KNOW" that they are the "wrong" gender.

BTW look up the history of the "Tavistock"... that's rarely seen too.

Gender identity services for children as young as 3. That says it all, a 3 year old shouldn't be allowed to go through the kitchen cabinets alone but they can decide what gender they want to be. What a scam. :rolls

I personally know of two such people. Both succumbed to outside pressure for a gender change under pressure from parents, "friends" and phycologist in their youth. Both have issues as adults because instead of solving the gender psychosis, the physical changes actually amplified them.
One has attempted suicide several time. Both have stress issues with families despite those families being supportive.

My friend Harry has a He-She-it child now in his/her/it thirties and still confused and living at home. Irreparable damage done, all in the name of making "it" happy. Resulting in complete failure.

I don't think people, who suggest such changes for their young children ought to have ever been parents. It often is a selfish attempt to reassign gender in order to have the SON or DAUGHTER they really wanted. Or and indulgence given to please their overly protected children. Serious stuff to which no child should have the ability to decide.

There are true and sad cases of gender dysphoria. Let doctors and adult patients deal with the issues very, very carefully.

Is it to crazy to say that it's part of a social control experiment? Run off the bodies of mentally maladjusted youth.

No more crazy than a man thinking he could enjoy sex in the same way as a woman without having a Uterus. Or that a woman could do the same. We are VERY different creatures.
So the enigma is ,,,;When we are in the womb, changing sex may well be possible without the emotional stress, but it would not be our decision. Later in life, when it is our conscience decision, the organs are mature making the change technically impossible. How does that relieve the emotional stress?

I'm not suggesting sex changes should never be done. But it seems, at least to a layman, that as a therapy for Sexual Dysphoria, it is not a universal solution.

Our children are sexually confused when introduced to sex education before they are mature enough to handle it. We use sex change like Ritalin on the youth we have confused.

With the same disastrous results.
