The Alliance for a Healthier Generation, founded by the American Heart Association and the Clinton Foundation is mentioned on the link from the school lunch programs around here.

No mention of Michelle Obama and her touted lunch program.

Having first hand knowledge of public school lunches I can say that while there are some stupid rules thanks to the feds, they do not in anyway look like any of the BS pictures posted here. An example of a stupid fed rule, we can not add anything to plain oatmeal so the kids will eat it, so at the end of the month we have to throw out a case of plain oatmeal every month. And no we can not give it to a food bank or anything like that. Assuming all the schools are doing the same thats about 10 cases a month from my smallish school district, imagine that amount from a metro school district.

So, all the thousands of pictures posted online and all the stories printed around the country of the awful school lunches courtesy of michelle obama ain't true?

The pictures posted are from kids who had to eat the slop.

Have you ever seen what food looks like after kids play with it? It doesn't start like that, and I would also point out people like to take picture to prove their point even if the have to get creative with them. I have been feeding kids for 10 years, I have been dealing with the BS laws that came to us from the feds, and still no one in our district has ever or would ever put food out that looks like that.

I guess some people are too stupid to know what drugs may have what side effects; I guess some people are too stupid to teach themselves how to read; I guess some people must be too stupid to tell if meat is tainted unless it is inspected, so we should not listen to the commie government cuz we are boot strappers en we'll show them.

I think you're full of all of it.
My grandkids go to public school and they have good meals and if they pack a lunch they dont get in trouble for bringing chips and stuff as some of these twitterers and bloggers often claim. Get yer head out of it, Mr L and realize these guys make a living getting you stirred up and if they have to lie to do it? worked for ACORN didnt it so the precedent is set. There is no longer any federal regulation making your news have to be truthful. Congratulations. I believe you are a satisfied customer.

Not to hurt your feelings, but what would you want to add to plain oatmeal except a little salt?
Do you mean during cooking?
Are there any cartons of milk on the trays or butter?

I would add oatmeal to a trash can because that's where it belongs but it's okay for the peons but not the Obama children.
