My comment was aimed at the criminals not the majority of law abiding gun owners....

Criminals don't worry about obeying laws to begin with, more of those (laws/restrtctions)will not deter the problem....

Here is some more reference material for those who think tougher gun laws can help.....

Burst of violence leaves 31 shot in less than 12 hours in Chicago

June 1 2019
Madeline BuckleyContact Reporter
Chicago Tribune

In a burst of violence Friday night and early Saturday that touched nearly every part of the city, almost three dozen people were shot, four of them fatally.
As warm and sunny weather returned to Chicago on Friday after the wettest May in recorded history, 31 people were shot between 6 p.m. and just before dawn Saturday, reaching a clip of more than two people shot per hour, according to Chicago police.

Tearra B. Campbell, 22, was also killed in a stabbing Friday night on the South Side, police said. She was found unresponsive in a residence in the 7400 block of South Chappel Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood. Police said the stabbing appeared to be domestic.
The shootings spanned from Rogers Park to Roseland, and from the Gold Coast to Austin, and included five people shot in attacks in Loop-adjacent neighborhoods on the Near North Side.

It is always a certainty that anything done to restrict use by law-abiding citizens results in the bad guys winning. So in actuality, the anti-gun people are helping the bad guys in their endeavors, and causing the honest population to bite the big one. Before the "pro-gun, but..." people crawl out of the woodwork attempting to explain the sick logic they shlt out, I should tell them not to bother. No sane person listens to idiots trying to further leash, with insane anti-gun laws, the people trying to be secure and safe from murderous psychos.

That's right, the President Harris administration would declare any "failure" of Congress to pass desired legislation as "not getting their act together" meaning the President was empowered to legislate using executive decrees echoing Obama's reign of pen and phone. As we have seen from Federal judges blocking the Trump administration's attempts to end DACA programs created by Presidential decree can survive changes to the Presidency if they have the right pedigree.

The Harris promise to violate the Constitution with imperial decrees overlooks the onerous restrictions needed to implement it. The requirement for background checks for anyone selling more than 5 guns per year can only be enforced by requiring every gun sale to be reported to the Federal government otherwise there is no way to effectively monitor individuals for the 5 gun limit. If a President can arbitrarily decree mandatory background checks for sales of 5 guns per year, there is nothing stopping a President from setting the limit at 3 per year or even 1.

Oh, those background checks aren't free in the new anti second amendment regime. Got an extra $1,000 to add to the cost of buying a gun? No, well too bad. Currently background check requests get an immediate response of yes, no or hold. After 3 days on hold if no response is received the sale is approved. An administrative change lifting the 3 day limit or changing the default to denied is all that is needed to turn the second amendment into an ornament.

Probably about as difficult as an amendment.

The Bill of Rights is the amendment to the Constitution, meaning it was added to point out some but not all unalienable rights we have. The Second Amendment is not dependent upon the Constituion for its existence, and Kamala and her anti-gun monkeys, the Brady Bunch, the "pro-gun, buts...", the anti-gun weenies, that idiot from New York, forgot his name, Dianne Frankenstein from California, every single one of those fools, can go chew a bag of prunes, rant and babble about amendment this or amendment that, and they can all shove any anti-gun amendment where the sun doesn't shine.
