79-year-old woman fends off intruder with 2 gunshots
Good for her! If the left had its way, that woman wouldn't have been able to defend herself.
Quote:
A dramatic 911 call reveals how an elderly woman armed with a gun fended off a man who had broken into her home until authorities arrived.
In the nine minute call from Feb. 12, provided to ABC News by Jackson County Emergency Services officials in Georgia, the woman tells emergency dispatchers that she saw someone on her back porch.
When the dispatchers asked if the suspect was trying to get into the house, she replied, "Yes. They tried to get in the back door. Hurry. Hurry please."
The woman, whose name was redacted from the call, then tells the dispatcher that the man was breaking glass to get into the home.
"Okay...come on. I got something for you," she yelled at the intruder before firing off one shot.
The man still found another way to get into the home and ran upstairs, the woman said, before admitting that she shot at him once from the kitchen.
"This is taking way too long," the woman said, asking for help to be sent faster. "They upstairs talking crazy."
The woman then tells the dispatcher that she's scared before yelling a warning to the man in her home: "I'm waiting on ya. When you come down them stairs, I'm gonna blow your d--- brains out. I'm waiting. Come on."
She then fires her weapon again, and the dispatcher warns her to put the gun on the counter when deputies arrive.
"When he gets there, I do not want the gun in your hand," the dispatcher told the woman.
The call ends after deputies arrive and the dispatcher confirms that the woman put the gun down.
The suspect, 20-year-old Hans Rogers from Dallas, Georgia, was charged with burglary, home invasion and criminal trespassing, his jail records show. He is being held without bond at the Jackson County jail.
Rogers hid in an upstairs closet until deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office arrived and arrested him, according to an incident report. He threw items down the stairs as he was up there, police said. https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/79-yea...MebxaUKBQTS-Nc
