Trump To Republican Lawmaker: ‘You’re Afraid Of The NRA’
https://www.yahoo.com/newsroom/vibes...c-7cfd636eeb7b
Video clip. One of few things I agree with trump on.
Some have said trump is a city guy. Specificaly a New York City guy, and with that comes an understanding of gun violence and a disconnect with gun culture in America.
I say those who want zero gun regulation have a disconnect with the part of the country where the latest school shooting took place. Florida is urban. Yes there are tiny pockets of country but mostly it is a place where gun violence is a fear. Not a good old boy rural culture as it once was.
We have to look at both sides and see the country as a whole. We are getting more urban. I don't like it but its true. With that comes all the neurosis' of that environment.

Evil is evil. it exist in the Countryside and the cityscapes without preference. It was there in the old wild west and the old civilized cities of the east as it now resides in the modern version of our nation. And it pervades our society and our government with equal corrosion.

The NRA has a membership of about 5 million. Against the 330 million members of our nation, they are but a small finger in the dike holding back tyranny of government and evil doers which also inhabit the nation everywhere and anytime.

The purpose of the NRA is to defend the right to bear arms as well as to instruct and inform civilians in their proper and responsible use. I see no logical reason to hold that purpose in fear.

The USA is born as a nation of free individuals. The second amendment guarantees them the right to remain so. It is NOT negotiable.

Most people don't have an issue with basic background checks, but I guess it depends on the definition you are using for 'regulation'.

For some people, regulation means 'may issue', in other words, prove your need and a permit/license MIGHT be issued. That is no where in the 2A. Some states take the 'will issue' stand, defined as unless they find something hinkey in your background, a permit/license will be issued.

I don't know which definition you are using, but I know which one I stand behind.

What two things happened in the "old wild West?"
Churches and gun regulation.

Part time idiot. I'm still trying to figure out where you cam up with the thread title. No one I know is afraid of the NRA, and I know I'm not.

Methodist church circuit riders was a big factor in civilizing the country. Ie. Texas history. Also history shows us a time when mad men killed coco roaches with firearms and a time later when law men came in to round up the crazies and townspeople demanded gun regulation. Reading is informative.
