Default Poll: Should bump stocks be banned?

I'm interested in getting PW's views on bump stocks, after the recent shooting.
Simple yes-or-no poll, should they be banned or not? (And feel free to comment)

YES ALONG WITH ALL GUNS EXCEPT HUNTING TYPE RIFLES. THERE SHOULD BE AN EXTENSIVE AND INTENSE BACKGROUND CHECK AND ONLY TAKE SO MANY APPLICATIONS FOR REGISTERING AT A TIME.
MAKE ALL OWNERS RE REGISTER OR GO TO JAIL & PAY A FINE IF THEY DON'T COMPLY WITH RE REGISTERING (INCLUDING FORFEITURE OF FIRE ARMS TO LOCAL POLICE TILL REG PROCESS COMPLETED).

Caps lock is on the left side of the keyboard. Even though the key says "Caps Lock", it also unlocks the caps.

Should there have been a background check for the pellet rifle I have?
Should I register the pellet rifle I have? I don't use it for hunting. I use it for varmint control.

Which is why I say no. The left will seize the opportunity to further the agenda. Already, the politicians are advocating just as you say. Terry McCauliffe called for new legislation in Va banning 30 round mags and assault rifles + bump stocks.

Bump Stocks will shorten the life of your firearm, plus the ability to stay on target is sorely reduced. So it is really for the "beaten zone" which is to say, "for killing. The beaten zone for any auto firing weapon is the cartridge your using.
The bullets travel distance and starts at a standing man head to the same man back so that bullets will now hit his feet. This area about everyone in it would get hit if enough Infantry were involved.

The NRA have already suggested more regulations, however the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms probably aren't going to urge Congress to pass a bill to regulate them.

yes that was hopeful, but then as I understand it they don't want a law made and this is to head that off.

I hate to break this to every one, but you do not need a bump stock to accomplish exactly the same thing, with out it.

There is a way to hook the thumb of the trigger hand into a belt loop, such that you can now push forward with that hand, acting like the spring in a bump stock. When you fire the rifle, recoil will move the gun rearward, and by balancing the forward force exerted, against the pull of the finger on the trigger, you can make essentially the same series of events that a bump stock does. Btw, were do you think the idea for a bump stock came from??

The idea is old. The concept can be home built with fair ease. Not sure making them illegal will help matters much..

Regards, Kirk
